June 19, 20178 yr Love the first gen EFIS! Even today the three engines (Falcon 7x and 9x) is touted not for ETOPS but as an additional safety margin. One Engine Inoperative (OEI) is much less of a concern when you have two more going for you and you have lost only 33% of your total thrust and 50% of your climb performance. Unlike the G550 where canning an engine means losing 50% of your total thrust and nearly 70% of your climb performance. I will always remember the comment from the F-16 Viper pilot when he got put into holding for an emergency B-52 with an engine out. "Oh no not the dreaded 7 engine approach." Makes me wonder about this new crop of single engine Business Jets. What happens when 95% reliability meets the 5% day?
June 19, 20178 yr Bizjets generally don't do it for me, but I'm looking forward to this one a lot. I had some great fun with the freeware version and this one isn't a millions miles away from it in terms of the panel layout. I'm glad they're not going for glass. Do we have any information about release date or the kind fo systems depth that can be expected? I haven't flown Flysimware before.
June 19, 20178 yr Author Hi Paul, Yeah - I'm usually a prop guy but based on my experience with the Flysimware Lear 35A - I'm truly looking forward to this one as well... Systems wise - the attention to detail is far superior to Carenado and completely enjoyable... There hasn't been much mentioned on the Falcon except some screenshots... I'm assuming it's not going to be FMC based - instead utilizing the GTN but as long as I can fly real world procedures and have full navigational capabilities - that works for me... If you don't have it - get the Lear - seriously - get the Lear (they have 50% sales often so you should be able to pick it up for around $20.00 which is a steal)... It's one of my favorite planes of all time in FS... I don't think it's 100% in v4 yet though... Support of FSW products is second to none... Regards, Scott

However, that is in the column of very hard to do and requires lots of C++ coding to do it right. (The most complete version I have seen was Milviz's UNS-1F and it was missing PGS and VNAV capability.)

I believe the current plan is to have space for a GTN 750 and Rex-Milviz WX radar in the Falcon panel similar to the Lear35A (a tight fit I think), and the console between the pilot/copilot seats to have dual 'dummy' FMCs that users can 'replace' with a functioning 3rd party FMC if they so desire. I know there are some free and payware FMC options out there (e.g., vasFMC and EasyFMC, etc), but how well they work (and if they would be P3Dv4 compatible) I don't know. Al
