December 14, 200520 yr the fact that the manual clocks in at an underwhelming 58 pages does not inspire much confidence either. ricardo
December 15, 200520 yr " you do realize you can use the utility program to tweak the VC, right? December 15, 200520 yr in the config utility installed in your start menu program group. there are sliders under the tab displays and the graphics section allows you to adjust certain options like anti aliasing, etc.
December 15, 200520 yr I am pretty happy with the 737-300, but my only major complaint is the manual - or lack of thereof. It is a nice manual (as all of Mike Rays publications), but nowhere near of being complete. Some modelled systems are not even mentioned (IRS, for example). Other ones are underwhelmingly briefly touched, like the fairly complex FMC.But... you will find rather shameless advertisements to buy his "737 Simulator Checkride" manual for an additional $50.
December 15, 200520 yr >Hey guys she is finally out!>>http://www.wilcopub.comI. like all you hardcore simmers are immediately tempted to get out the plastic every time I see something I like appear and so many of you applaud through the medium of Avsim forums. To answer this, there is a guy in our flightsim group that really gets into his payware. He examines all the technical aspects and uses it every day for around six months before moving onto something new. I think most of us don't do this? We are immediately tempted away from the ones we enjoy to test and use the latest. In this, the new '733' is typical of what we do?When I got the PMDG 737NG's I thought, this is the best thing I have ever seen and used. I didn't want anything else. Then the LDS came out and I bought that too. Five minutes later (It seems) PMDG launched their '744' and I bought that too. 'Jeff Greth' submitted his 'Beaver' video and that sold me on the first 'GA' aircraft I never expected to buy.Are we all sick or what? we buy this stuff and forget about all the other aircraft we have in our hanger accumulating cobwebs while getting used to our latest addictive aircraft.I will buy this one too but, often wonder if we are going down a 'one-way' street and busy stabbing ourselves in the back for FS10?Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
December 15, 200520 yr I think you actually have a point there, we are getting so used to all the beauty and realism of the latest add-on airliners that when we have to go back to the default stuff in FS10 (will we even bother if it's on XBox 360 though?) that we will tend toward finding it all a bit boring, unless MS has something new up their sleeve to encourage us to stick with it whilst some of our favourites get converted. As to the 737PIC one of Dreamfleet's guys (Lou Betti no less) said it was quite good, and with praise like that coming from someone like him that's good enough for me. After all they really are very very good at what they do.

After all they>really are very very good at what they do.Do you seriously believe one flightsim developer is going to talk honestly about another? I don't think so. The PIC 737 is extremely rough around the edges and represents in many ways a major step backwards. I'm not even going to comment on the foot long list of bugs (these will be fixed, I am sure). But the fact that1) Support for liveries and download issues is in the hand of Wilco, a developer with a lousy support track record.2) No additional liveries have been released as of yet. And with Wilco, I'm not going to hold my breath that this is going to happen anytime soon. 3) The virtual cockpit quality is atrocious. Absolutely no improvement over what was offered for the PIC ERJ 145.4) The manual is close to worthless: basically it's just an ad for the bigger manual you're supposed to buy. Important systems features are not explained (alignment of the IRS, for example). 5) No reference manuals/tables (again, you're supposed to buy the bigger manual).6) No load editor7) No fuel planner8) Atrocious framerates. Using the included weather radar will cut your frame rates in half. I did a flight out of the new aerosoft eddf scenery and had miserable performance. Did the exact same flight with LDS 767 - pure joy and smooth performance all around. PMDG 747-400, LDS 767, PMDG 737NG, Dreamfleet 727 Whisperjet, Flight 1's ATR - this is now the standard for the best in realism and immersion. ricardo
December 15, 200520 yr HiHaving read the mixed bag above and also having all the models mentioned.I bought the 733 and my gut reaction when it first appeared on my screen which to me is the acid test was ---- sub standard, and as if I had stepped back 24 months. I'm becoming a sucker for diving in and buying too quickly. I have to change my approach in 2006. It's annoying that we have come to expect unfinished projects and have become the paying testers to eventually over time, get some right (almost).Bob Wright

So smooth and you capture the elements so good. The music you add to them is very catchy too, your causing me to spend even more on obtaining the music too :-halo The Beaver one wasn't as good for the music, you ended Tom Petty's 'Learning to Fly' too quick. :-boom Thnaks for the url though, I'm in the process of spreading the word. Your video's should be snapped up by the aircraft designers for promotion. Thanks again. Looking forward to more?Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
December 15, 200520 yr I finally picked it up. It has the potential to be great but it has some flaws that need to be ironed out first. I get the strong feeling that they released it premature - there are several problems universal to all users that really should have been caught and fixed in the beta stage prior to release...- The autopilot has some really serious flaws. I had it randomly dive into a 45 degree - 3000fps dive while on the STAR (well what resembelled the STAR - 1/2 of the waypoints didn't even exist in the freaking nav database!), then it absolutely refused to lock on to the ILS - There is a very odd framerate issue that most people seem to get where it jumps between your normal value (in my case 25) and then down to 15 or so - constantly switching between 15 and 25 fps - no other aircraft I have does this so it's something unique to the 737.That said as long as these issues are addressed I really look forward to logging some serious hours in it.
December 15, 200520 yr Commercial Member That TrackIR is really amazing, those vids show it off really well. Gotta get me one of those... ;) Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
December 15, 200520 yr Very nice videos Jeff!in addition, considering the statement above "I have to change my approach in 2006. It's annoying that we have come to expect unfinished projects and have become the paying testers to eventually over time, get some right (almost)." this shows that there are indeed some products that do not need to change one's approach!
December 15, 200520 yr OT but I tried Track IR myself and returned it, found it very uncomfortable to use. It seems I'm one of a very few who don't like it though, and they do have a 30 day return policy (you can't return the Vector expansion software though so don't use it if you are just trying it out).
