Feelthere 737 classic released!!

>David, communication breakdown...>I was saying no one had done a 737-3/4/5 with integrated wxr,>not that no one had done integrated wxr.Ok - I'm pretty sure those are the only 3 aircraft in total that have a weather radar that will overlay on the EFIS.Anyways for those who have it, can you comment on framerates - mainly how they compare to the PMDG 737 series?

What I'd like to know is what options have I to fly? Can I just "kick the tires and light the fires", then off into the Wild Blue, or do I have to spend a goodly amount of time progamming everything so I can fly? My time usually doesn't allow me the luxury of "reality by the numbers"; sometimes I only have time for a 30-40 minute flight and I can't spend that time punching buttons.Bob

Hey Bob, I haven't flown her yet but I am guessing being this is a PIC plane it is going to be pretty complex. They are also releasing a 777 that is a fleet plane and will be much less complex. you would at least have to program the FMC and O/H but I have found once you get in the flow you can do this in ~ 10 minutes...Hope that helps,-PaulLiquid CooledAMD 4000 San Diego2 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2Dual 7800 GTX 24 inch widescreen dual 19 inch LCDRaid-0psolksig.jpg

I seem to remember reading somewhere that DF are/were intending to do one... Might be worth hunting around their forum to see if there's any info there?Cheers,Ian P.

>>None taken.... I did in the form of the PMDG 737 series. >Fully Functional...? What is that? Vendors have done wonders>trying to simulate full functionality of every aspect of an>aircraft. But lets be reasonable, FS9 will only let you do so>many things until it becomes dummy switches just for the sake>of fliping switches.>>So I continue to ask the question that no one can answer. Why>add another 737 to the mix when there are already plenty of>737's available? I guess you must be a 737 fanatic and>welcome another. Personally, I would rather see something>else. It is called variety, and I hear it is the spice of>life.:D>>Kevin>I have the Ready for Pushback 747-200 and purchased the PMDG 747-400 anyway... why? because they are still different airplanes. There are way too few great addons for some airplanes and too many for others, but in terms of PMDG type quality, there are none for the older generation 737s.edit: or should I say there "were" none, hopefully the feelthere product is great. I look forward to flying her after work tonight!

Ok guys, i just bought it, and here are my finds;fps is pretty bad, even on my system (amd athlon 64 3700+ and ATI X800XT, 1Gb mem, etc)it fluctuates between 15 and 19 (in 2d!!!) in default scenery / airport / no weather etc.I can run the pmdg 744 with all sliders maxed at a fluent 25 fps, ofcourse locked at 25 in the VC.VC gauges are nowhere near fluent, very jerky update refresh rate (partially because of the many (4!!!) VC cockpit entries in the panel.cfgVC bitmaps are very blurry and of low quality (my setup is 1280x1024 - LG TFT 19")Outside model is so so, but some of the bitmaps created by the painter are the worst i've seen - take a look at the bitmaps for giving you an illiusion of spinning fans...System wise the plane is modelled pretty well and most of those systems DO work..Also i have to say that the 2D panel is superbly done, but i'm a vc junkie, so i had a real shock to see the vc so badly done.Nowadays with the new technologies for gauge modelling and the knowledge of keeping the vc entries to a minimum to keep gauge refresh rates up (for every entry the refresh rate is devided by the number of entries) it's sad to see developers asking so much money for an add-on that does not even incorporate those technologies...I am very sad I have spent 30 euro's on this product , for I only have a pretty good 2d panel and a fairly well modelled system simulator.sad...Anthony

Hmmm, wondering if maybe the 2D panel merged to the 50 North 737 might be the ticket.Lee

At least not if you want to do it realistically in the confines of FS.

Yes I can confirm that a merge with the 50 North 737 is working very well for the 2d panel. I've also added some nice internal cockpit views in it.

Thanks for the framerate report Anthony - I'll stick with my Dash 8.PS for the person mentioning the Dreamfleet 737-200 - unfortunately that project was abandoned - I believe the rumor is they are working on a DC-8 though.

Runs great here.....And I have not even installed on my desktop..[h4]Randy J. I am sorry to say, maybe i am doing something wrong with the very unintuitive setup utility... But i hope you have read that with ALL other cpu intensive add-ons I have, like the PMDG or the PSS i get VERY good fps, with WeathermakerPro running in the background, full 3d clouds, 4 cloud layers, fluent VC gauges, 1280x1024 32bit, AA x 4 and AF x 8, etcfps locked at 25, and it stays there... Also to tell me to tweak my system is a big insult to me.. as i have been building and tweaking computers since i was 12, and i am now 31, my brother works for a large company as an IT network specialist and i am currently studying C++ and developing another add-on which i cannot mention right now...Randy, i hope that was a joke, and we can continue to be friends.Personally, i have a really bad taste about this 737. But I bought it, and it is my money... So i guess i will just have to dig it in...Still waiting for a patch from the 777 (pss) which is a whole lot better than this IMOregards,Anthony

> Well then you shouldn't be flying heavy iron anyway. That's a bit harsh... Not everyone wants to fly to the limits of realism. It's one of the freedoms that FS gives us, like the flight I just did in a light aircraft under bridges, between buildings and coming off a low level high speed pass over the destination airfield to land. I'll do the same in a Lancaster bomber later. Maybe a 747. Doesn't really matter, seeing as it's a PC simulation and the CAA can't get me. :-hahThanks to the person above who said that the 737-200 had been cancelled, I didn't know that. Guess the hunt is back on in that case!I was one of the people waiting for the release of this one because I've missed my 737 Classic since FS2002. I think I'll wait a little longer, both to see what the -400 and -500 hold and to see what other peoples' opinions are like on frame rates. The way I have FS set up is not really suited to high FPS... more high tree counts in valleys. ;-)Cheers all.Ian P.

Well if the VC isnt fluid I wont be buying it; thats a real bummer
