It's available now on their website - but it will cost you a cool $228,000,000.

Just be patient - like the rest of us are failing to be - and I'm sure it'll come down in price/ availability ;-)

Couldn't find Radius to Fix. Is it implemented?

Yes, harharharharharhar!

Beech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?
ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry.

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

Finally! I guess I'm flying my last 777 flight for a while now! :)

A bit off topic, but may I ask what cpu voltage you have to run it stable at 4.7ghz?

I'm with JB here, but I have a unique setup for testing:

  • Original FSX with a vanilla, non-tweaked, zero-optimizations install. The only add-ons in this simulator are PMDG aircraft.
  • FSX:SE packed full of what I would consider "typical" add-ons in the community (for this, I follow what my friends on Facebook are using, sim new sites, and so on). This includes orbx FTX Global + Vector ( + trees), a bunch of orbx airports, the entire FlyTampa library, the entire FlightBeam library, and a ton of Aerosoft airports. For weather, AS2016 runs in the background with ASCA. Nearly maxed settings (I think I backed autogen off by one or two notches, along with mesh).
  • P3Dv3 packed full of the same with settings maxed.

Backing off on settings to bump up FPS values to tout FPS values would be pretty misleading, which is why in the (rare) circumstances that we provide such metrics we usually set an anchor point. In the case of one of RSR's old posts, the anchor point was the 777 (if I'm remembering it correctly). This allows you to see a comparison to a potentially known value (should you have that other aircraft), which is arguably more relevant than simply saying "oh, I get X FPS" because that would only be relevant if someone had the exact same computer, with the exact same settings. Otherwise, it would vary on the high or low side.

I get the best frames in FSX (somewhat obviously, since there's nothing in it other than the plane), followed by P3D, and then FSX:SE. The last two are relatively similar, but P3D takes advantage of the SLI setup that I have a bit better, so it's smoother and 5-10 fps higher, depending on the situation. Either way, the entire reason I have all of these sims installed, and in various states, is to see how the aircraft fits into the "ecosystem" of everything you all use. This is taken further by all of the beta testers who are intentionally simmers from the community (as Jason noted), who all use a varying array of different add-ons. Some use EZDok, some use ChasePlane, some use GSX, some don't. Having that many people using that many different setups helps us to track down issues a little better, but it also helps to establish a performance trend across different hardware configs.

What's with this pogo stick talk???

It's an old joke we had with our older aircraft. There would be a pogo stick somewhere in the model, usually in a cargo bay or something. It has since been changed to a Segway.

Excellent. Can't wait to climb out of 10,000', tell F/O he has controls and go searching for it. Nice Easter Egg.

Well if you say that it performs about the same as the 777 that is good enough for me. I do have plans for a new build sometime this year, but I am glad that I can take it slow.

My patience is already being tested like never before by having to wait for my pal to get back to finally fly her majesty.

Its gonna be interesting to see VATSIM the day of release and have 500+ 747's flying around! can't wait!

Can't wait, got the greenlight from the Misses, LOL.  This took some armtwisting after already getting the Connie last month, I told her, "I got one queen already in the hanger over Christmas, now I gotta have the other queen...that way they won't be lonely"

Cheers

Haha yeah.... that's the great thing about new premium aircraft releases... more variety on VATSIM. On the other hand with this one I got the feeling the trend will go the other way. I also got that "bad" feeling I  myself won't be able to fly anything else for longer than expected. My 737, 777, A32X and Q400 are going to get veeeeery jealous.

"Changes to the runway surfaces (right around the corner).."

Do you mean... Like.... Wet/Dry runways and their associated performance?!
