you can always map the TIR pause button on the yoke to stay focused on the FMC for programming. Then unpause when back to panning mode. This for me allows 100% VC flying in the PMDG744 (ok, except for accessing the pushback panel).PatAMD A64 4000+ @ 2.6GHz, Zalman7700Cu cooler, Corsair XMS 1GB DDR, LTK6800GT-OC, Asus A8V MoBo, WDRaptor10KrpmHDD, TrackIR4, CH FSYoke + TQ, XP-hsp2

just put the FMC and radio on the second monitor in 2D view and your set to go!

Thanks everybody for your input, I now have no doubt that TrackIR is a winner. Thanks and happy new Year, God Bless allCarlos

>Carlos>>Your concerns will disappear the minute you plug this little>piece of kit in. I will just say it's great cos I don't want>to gush on too much. One piece of valuable advice given to me>was instead of trying to create a profile of you own too soon,>get used to the system first - using the FS2004 default>profile. After a while go here:>>http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/04-com...y-profiles.html>>and add the profile 'CharveL' for IL-2/FS2004. It may not>suit you but if it does it will save a load of time. You can>always amend it later.>>AlAl, I tried that and TrackIR4 went haywire. Those settings are only for 'TrackIR3'. I lost head tilt and side to side motion. It meant uninstalling and re-loading the latest software again to get it back on line.Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/

Carlos,I can vouch for everyone else here in saying that the TrackIRtm is the most immersive hardware enhancement for FS - or any other sim. I've had mine less than 24 hours, and I can't get enough!!Best,Owen

I've got TrackIR 4 and downloaded that profile on the suggestion of a friend who has 3. He assured me that another simmer had used it on 4 and it was fine. So far it's working great on my system. Fingers crossed eh? Cracking piece of kit though!Al

anyone using TRPRO 3 or 4 with the PMDG 737 what are your experiences for someone who flies this plane exclusively?

I have just one last question for all of you....Can you use the Track IR4 with a view set at .72 instead of the default 1.00 zoom view in VC? I find the 1.00 setting to be to close and unrealistic for looking at outside objects and like it set at my presonal preference of .72?

Eric

I use .75 all the time, but you can set it anywhere you want it..

Eric, I just started using the TrackIR 4 myself and I love it. I almost feel in the office with it :) I have been able to use the zoom key, not sure if that answers your question, but with trackIR, you can still use the zoom keys (or the AC zoom function with the mouse)John

Bob and John..thanks a bunch guys...ordering it now.

-SNIP->Also, keeping my head still when trying to flip switcheds>takes a little practice. =SMNIP- I just received my TrackIR 4 Pro today and have made orientation flights in FSX, FS9 and Aces High. For FSX and FS9, to assist in "mousing" the switches, etc in the VC, I programmed 2 switches on my X45 stick to "Pause"and "Center" TrackIR.When I want to chage a conrol setting, I look at it, hitmy "Pause" button, make the adjustment/input/etc, then hit my "Pause" button again to resume scanning the cockpitand outside views.By far the toughest one to get used to is Aces High. It'sa combat sim and you need to keep checking 6 as well astracking your intended target. I've got alot of tweaking andpracticing to do for that sim. FS9/FSX are pretty straightforward, so to speak, and the only problem I've encounteredis when looking down to the pedestal I sometimes find my"head" stuck in the full down position. That's when the"Center" button comes in and is real handy for regaining focus. Paul

gizmosforgeeks.com just did a pretty nice writeup of the TrackIR4 Pro on Monday. Check it out if you're still wondering whether to buy one.I got mine last month and can't imagine FS'ing without it now!--2002cbr600f4i
