April 26, 20179 yr I've been having OOM's for every driver up to this one. After 2 days of flying, I haven't had and OOM with 381.89. It may be just luck...but so far, I'm happy. Let me know what you all think. Stan

April 27, 20179 yr But is there any mention from nVidia in their driver update log notes about this being specifically addressed? Or is this just coincidence?
April 27, 20179 yr Author I'm FSX. Just flew from Montreal to Philly...some heavy clouds and took off at dusk, landed in darkness. No OOM's. I'm crossing my fingers on this one. Stan

There is not one mention of Prepar3D, Out of Memory, Virtual Address Space, or Lockheed Martin in the release notes for the 381.89 driver. I suspect there never will be a mention of any flight sim by NVidia, because there is no flight sim worth mentioning in their notes, we are way behind the tech curve as it is now. If we ever catch up, we may be heard and even catered to. As it is now, why should they even pay attention to us?
April 27, 20179 yr Author It has ALWAYS been that way. I would love to see a driver that actually mentions Microsoft Flight Simulation in its working description. THAT would be most heartening. NVIDIA. I know you read this forum. How about some individual attention to our wonderful hobby from many WHO BUY your cards over the competitive cards. Huh? Stan
April 28, 20179 yr Author A few more flights today with NO OOM crashes. So far, my fingers and toes are crossed. Stan

April 30, 20179 yr This driver is great for FSX Steam I just completed a 4 hour flight from FSDT IAH to LatinVFR TNCA and my vas is lower after landing than when I departed. Happy finally I can use the latest Nvidia drivers.
April 30, 20179 yr You guys probably know this, but in fSX (I do not have P3D so do not know), when you press F5 it restores scenery. I have found that more often than not when my VAS is lower, I can squeeze more space out by doing this. Sherm
April 30, 20179 yr Alas, I loaded these drivers after a ddu wipe. Loaded p3d3.4, disabled traffic and cleared weather. Parked at N30 with the a2a Cherokee, I started with 1.510 gb of vas. Left it for 4.5 hours, came back to 1.201 gb vas remaining. That's a 300 mb leak for me. Same test with 376.33 after 4.5 hours and indentical parameters - leak was 2 mb. Oh well, I had high hopes.
Dassault Falcon, Lear, Embraer and Challenger and Cessna Mechanic.Broadcasting live from former Soviet Missile Silo.Rhys Legge

You have to disable shader cache again

Thanks for the reminder, when I'm back in town I'll try that.
Dassault Falcon, Lear, Embraer and Challenger and Cessna Mechanic.Broadcasting live from former Soviet Missile Silo.Rhys Legge
