There were two United Airlines related announcements, today...

Featured Replies

Southwest announced late yesterday that they've decided to end overbooking, joining JetBlue, the only US airline that previously had a no-overbooking policy.

Radical policy changes - sort of like deciding that from now on, you're going to have lifeboat capacity for all the passengers on board.

Dr Dao should have got off the plane because police officers aren't going to take no for an answer, they were doing there job, they even told him that they would have to drag him off. It was ugly and I don't agree with what the airline did. Matter should have been handled before boarding. It was more aggravating that 4 UA employees were the ones causing the need for bumping seats.

I would gladly get beaten up and removed from a flight for $15 mil.  I could ease my suffering sitting at home simming on my new rig.

Geez Mark, just what kind of computer ya thinkin' of buying with that $15 mil?  Bet it would be better than all ours combined!! :ha:

It's only $3000 but the beach house I plan to put it in is expensive.

Well, you're several days late and a few dollars short with this post...

1. Those were not "police officers." They were airport security. They were not "doing there job" (sic) at all. They had no authority acting in a civil matter.

2. The head of airport security lost his job because of this incident.

3. The airline has admitted and accepted full responsibility for this disgraceful incident.

Is that really how much you think he got? I was thinking more in the 150-200 million range.

You're doing too much "drive-by" reading  . Take the time to follow the entire discussion.

Cheers,
