Don't think Orbx stuff is compatible with V4 yet.  Orbx scenery contains AI, some static.  That would cause the issue.  AI is aircraft.  You turn it on or off in your AI settings.

cant get into the game so I cant turn off the AI settings

Did u try unplugging all your USB devices? As I said, for me the Razer Orbweaver Hardware caused this issue. Try to unplug everything and then only replug your mouse and test.

Then best thing to do is delete the P3D.cfg located in C:\Users\(YourUserName)\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4.  When you restart P3D, it will rebuild to the default settings.  The p3d.cfg is in a hidden folder.  See the AVSIM CTD Guide on how to unhide the folder.

Apparently setting direct input in p3d control options other, seems to fix the issue for now.

Yep, if try this if you can't get in the options (cause P3D still doesn't start).

Edit your Prepar3D.cfg, and modify this (change it or add this lines / section if it does not exist)

[CONTROLS]
EnableDirectInput=True

Still crashes and the floder is not hidden for me

The folder is not hidden because you had it unhidden previously with another program.

I think I'll just wait for p3d to fix it with an patch

Did you even try the USB / DirectInput thing? :huh: It seems, theres more hardware causing the crashing / not starting and this fixes it temporarily..

I've tried everything in this thread but no-go.

Rob Jones.

I've just had P3D crash, nothing added to the sim, flying around the north east of England and had a fatal system crash, come on LM I expected better than this.

Oh my, sorry to hear all this. Makes me remember someone who said P3Dv4 was rushed.

Good luck, Ed

This fixes it.  Add the following to your P3D.cfg file under the Controls section.

[CONTROLS]

EnableDirectInput=True

You can edit your Prepar3D.cfg file to turn off the AI.

Look for the section;

[TrafficManager]
AirlineDensity=20
GADensity=13
FreewayDensity=20
ShipsAndFerriesDensity=20
LeisureBoatsDensity=20

Set the density to 0 for all of the types of traffic. You could also disable one type of traffic at a time to narrow down a potential culprit.

Also, if you may have a corrupt traffic file in the simulator, go to the Prepar3D/Scenery/World/scenery folder and rename any/all traffic files to hide them from the simulator. Ie; trafficAircraft.bgl to trafficAircraft_bgl.OFF.

Good luck
