Finally found it visually, but cannot access it. Mouse pointer only recognizes "hide yoke" anywhere near that switch position. What the heck! November 7, 20178 yr Logged about 5 hours, 7 flights. Really slippery aircraft. Cannot find cowl flaps. Does this model not have any? November 8, 20178 yr Here is a very good and thorough evaluation of an M20R by the Executive Director at Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association. Covers the cowl flaps question as well as providing great insight into landing the Ovation. http://www.mooneypilots.com/mapalog/M20R Evaluation/M20R.htm Frank Patton Corsair 5000D Airflow Case; MSI B650 Tomahawk MOB; Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU; ASUS RTX 4080 Super; NZXT 360mm liquid cooler; Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM; RMX850X Gold PSU;; ASUS VG289 4K 27" Display; Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Crosswind 3's w/dampener. It's really a bit odd given the attention to detail they give the actual model... The controls are usually in the cockpit however I don't ever recall seeing them linked to a visual on the outside of the model... I've included the request to include them on tickets I've submitted - standard answer #1 - "we'll consider your request on future releases"... Regards, Scott

Well, as fppilot pointed out already, there are no cowl flaps on a Mooney. The C404 doesn't have them either and e.g. the C310 has internal cowl flaps. Not much to model in these cases.

I've asked before but never really got an answer from anyone - opinions - bugs mostly squashed on this aircraft - worthy addition to the hangar ??? I did truly enjoy their original 201 Mooney but that was in FS9... Regards, Scott

There really aren't too many bugs with this specific model, apart from the MAP not having a decimal point and the fuel pump not making noise (the former confirmed by Alabeo to be in the next service pack and the latter already resolved) there aren't many bugs. As for the Cowl flaps not being properly modeled, last time I checked, they work in my Alabeo C207 Skywagon.
November 20, 20178 yr Anyone have any landing technique tips? Wow! I spent about an hour this afternoon doing touch and gos and had two consistent issues. First, when flaring I had a tendency to float! And I do mean float! Like 2,000 ft. Then on two other occasions I touched down to immediate ground loops. Use of replay showed nosewheel contact first despite full flaps and slow speed. And that with an 18 kt headwind. Seems like for the conditions to be unnatural in terms of attitude. The real Mooney Ovation requires existing Mooney pilots to refocus on keeping the nose higher than what they are used to when touching down, to avoid wheelbarrowing.. Bert
