September 4, 20178 yr What did you do to get windows 10 to run well with P3D v4? This rig is just for simming. What did you turn on or off tweak this or that? May be you just let win 10 do its thing. I want to know. Thanks for you help. Maurice J I9 12900k \ EVGA 3080ti \ G-Skill 32GB \ Samsung 4K TV
September 4, 20178 yr OS tweaks hardly have an impact on the sim that would be noticeable anyways. If you run a quad core you could try shutting off unneeded programs. You can also try running it in gaming mode but again hardly any diff on my rig. Steve McNitt
September 4, 20178 yr Author Thanks Steve am just starting to learn win 10. I'll give the gaming mode a try. Maurice J I9 12900k \ EVGA 3080ti \ G-Skill 32GB \ Samsung 4K TV
September 4, 20178 yr On a well-specified system gaming mode will probably not make much of a difference. It apparently works best on older systems which struggle with modern games. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
September 4, 20178 yr Just leave Windows the way it is. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

June 23, 20196 yr 1 Turn off system sounds and all sounds (muting doesn't count) 2 Turn off screen saver, only use blank screen or off 3 turn off background image, only use solid color 4 Set windows to prefer "optimize for Performance" 5 Turn off disc Indexing 6 Turn off system recovery 7 Do NOT use an Anti virus EVER!! Do not surf Porn, password crackers, free music/ movie/ software sites (Pirating) and You will be fine !!!!caveat emptor!!!! Avoid surfing the internet on a Simming rig, when you do only visit reputable flight sim sites! 8 Turn off anything/ everything running in the background unless Windows or Simulator needs it 9 Do not ever install ANYTHING that is not related to the Simulator 10 Buy a high powered rig! Flight simulators are the single most power hungry piece of software ever created for the PC 11 NEVER EVER let children "play" or surf on your simming rig!!! children can trash a system faster than anything I have ever seen! But by all means let them explore Flight simulation if they seriously want to learn aviation, supervise and guide them...... I have been simming for 37 years, started on a Timex Sinclair and flew FS when Bruce Artwick still owned it (Sub Logic) Warning! AT YOUR OWN RISK ONLY.... Oh Yea! never ever use Windows web browser ie: Internet Exploder except to download a different browser....
