I would venture to say the "casual" simmer who is not present on Avsim, reddit, or other enthusiast sites is likely aloof of the add-on market. The fact remains FSX is on it's way out. QW will do what is best for them. If releasing for FSX first is their shakeout cruise, then I don't begrudge them one bit. Keep the blue part on top... September 12, 20178 yr If they fire it off onto Steam for sale in FSX-SE as DLC, I think it could do well for them there sales-wise providing the price is right. Which may or may not be their plan since it will still install in FSX-SE even if not sold through that medium, but as noted, whether FSX-SE users who rely on Steam DLC content will even know about it if it isn't sold through that medium is another matter. It's the big shiny new airliner that will appeal to many, like the FF A350 does in XPlane 11, but the thing with XPlane is that the org store is not unknown to most XPlane users, so they do know that thing exists, but I would put money on a lot of FSX-SE users who view Steam DLC as their main source for add-ons never having even heard of Quality Wings, and they certainly won't be looking to buy it if they don't know it exists. September 12, 20178 yr As long as it will arrive for P3D any time soon, I do not care about what platform they release it first on :-)
September 12, 20178 yr Every time I see a new video of this project, it looks more and more like a winner. It really does look (and sound) very nice indeed. It's hard to beat a PMDG benchmark, but this looks like it's a contender.

There are one or two 787 videos showing flight setup and programming, startup, take-off and climb - and that was some time ago. It all looked (and sounded) great to me. I was never impressed with the CRJ videos (neither do I have it)

And those 'serious simmers' will have wanted a 787 for years, so will they be able to resist hitting 'buy now' when it comes out for FSX, or will they wait? I'd say a fair few would hit 'buy now', and then when it comes out for P3D, they'll be having to buy it again (this is assuming it is not a free product upgrade, which isn't likely given the licensing differences, although hopefully it would not be a full price buy to get it again). Kerching! two sales instead of one, simply for holding back the P3D version a few weeks. Not a very charitable business approach, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't do that myself if I were in their shoes. Actually FSLabs did this 'trick'. And I fell for it and bought both. It's my big fear, that QualityWings performs this manoeuvre, but if they do... well... I'll probably fall in the same trap again... *SIGH* Oh, the weakness... If you jump out of your avsim bubble you'll realize alot of people still use FSX. Well said. JV said recently a third of their Orbx scenery customer base is for FSX. That's a lot. It may not require big changes to port to P3d V3 and that's most of the market covered probably. Converting to v4 64 bit is likely to be a mammoth task and it's constantly changing so it makes sense.

It's actually quite pathetic. We get it. You don't like. Point made. You don't need to churn it out over and over again across the entire forums. Best regards, Neal McCullough

QW have taken several years to develop the plane for FSX so I am guessing based on their current pace they wont be as quick as some of the competition. Hopefully I am just being overly pessimistic :)
