Featured Replies

So here's the KB4041676 update we're referencing is in my computer in Windows. Old \windows\ services it won't let me remove it it's basically locked I'll continue to work on it but what I'd like to know is the development team working on it cuz it seems to be a Microsoft issue but it's related to the product and I love the product but if I can't fly it it has to stay hangered till we have a fix

I installed the new updates for the 747 a couple of days after it have been released.  Since the installation it is impossible to load the 747 QOTS.  It crashes to desktop. Previously no problems whatsoever.  Apparently the updates have something to do with this.   Any suggestions?

If indeed Windows 10 is causing the problem with the 747 QTS, PMDG will have to look into the problem as installing and uninstalling updates of Windows 10 is definitely not an option.  The problem did not exist previously and therefore could be rectified eventually.  PMDG surely has the know how available.

None of my payware addons from either PMDG or Aerosoft were working with the MS update kb-767. Logically it's not a PMDG issue; it's a Microsoft issue that affects several publishers for p3d v3.

PMDG should not make changes to the core functions of the simulator because Microsoft has screwed up the operating system with an update. It is Microsoft’s responsibility to fix the problem, not PMDG’s.

The MS KB update affects far more than just flight simulation. Many other types of software stopped working properly after the update. My understanding is that an new Microsoft update will be released in early November that should fix the problem for good.

In response to Viperid's comment I just recently updated Windows 10 to the latest build which is the fall creators update build 1709 that's why it's in Windows. Old but it still affects the operating system as far as Microsoft coming out with a fix in November I certainly bloody hope so

As this problem started I stopped the Windows update for 35 days (a function in WIN10). Today it started to download the updates as the 35 days are over. It is now downloading a security update with version KB4049179 and  an cumulative update version KB4041676... anyone with experiences about this updates and FSX?

I have always started my weather add-on before FSX.  I experienced CTD when selecting the QOTS from the default trike.  I reversed the start sequence.  FSX first, select QOTS, Fly Now - and then the weather add-on.  No CTD problems.  The Queen is indeed a beauty.

Anybody heard about a fix for this problem yet

This question is directed to the development team at PMDG. It seems that this issue has stalled here since I haven't seen any permanent solutions here on the forum. Has anyone on the team contacted Microsoft concerning this issue, and if so any results ?

far  as  i  gather  its not  a  pmdg  issue,  if  you want  to direct  your  question to the team,  than  submit  a support  ticket  in then

"You might consider that we have been running about all over the place collecting information, working the support team around the clock to collect logs and information in order to keep the pressure on Microsoft to fix THEIR problem. . . .  in this case we are a bit at the mercy of the OS developer- **WHO HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE PROBLEM IS A RESULT OF AN ERROR IN THEIR UPDATE" per RS Randazzo on October 23, who should know.

I'm well aware that it's a Microsoft issue it's just surprising well not really that they're taking so long to come up with a solution Microsoft that is

Well looks like the problem have finally been fixed time will tell
