November 13, 20178 yr Hi Folks, Man - not a fan of BIG glass in FS - this is the cockpit they should have modeled for the TBM-850... TBM-850 Regards, Scott

November 13, 20178 yr Author Hi Gregg, I wholeheartedly concur... Hah - I was watching a "Steveo" video last night and noticed that panel looks absolutely nothing like the one in the Carenado model - had to check the Carenado screenshots to be sure... It's a shame - had they went this route - with professional 3rd party navigation equipment - I would have definitely added this bird to my hangar... What's not to like about a TBM ? Big Glass on Alabeo/Carenado = NO SALE in my book - as you just can't use them realistically... Thanks for the comment... Regards, Scott

TBM-850 Regards, Scott I must have a telepathic link to you Scott? I was looking at this aircraft (after watching those great videos) and was actually going to ask Bert Pieke if his Phenom GTN 750 mod could be used in the TBM. At least then that big Caranedo center TV could be cut down to size. As it is, I too don't like all that glass. Everything would have to be 4096 resolution for me to see anything anyway....my old eyes aren't so great anymore! When they bring out a cockpit with 4096 + photo realistic graphics I may bite! I refer to the switch gear and the gauges. The A2A Connie still has the clearest panels I have ever seen, closely followed by the MJC Dash 8. Cheers.

Just a pity we can't transplant that cockpit panel, Scott posted, into the sim. I think one of the problems with that left hand side TV (apart from the fact it's right in front of you and is too bright) ifs that it looks so cartoon like and spoils immersion. Also no one has managed a true "apperture" view integration in that particular display....probably a fps issue? Cheers!
November 14, 20178 yr More and more airplane cockpits are going to big glass screens... and so are automobiles Bert

Those displays need to have very high resolution. You are looking at TV screen on a TV screen? Somehow the steam guages appear more true to life....but there again if your a traditionalist (read, getting on a bit) they are going to anyway! I don't have a VR Headset, but I bet there's not much to read unless you lean right up to the tv? I think the A2A Connie has the clearest gauges I have seen. The Garmin they added looks fuzzy by comparison. Regards.

I I agree... it seems counter intuitive, but TV screens displayed on TV screens often do not look "real" Bert

December 26, 20178 yr I've suggested to Carenado on several occasions that I would like to see GTN750 versions of their aircraft, including the TBM 850, Citation 525, PA-46T, C208, to name a few. Glad to see they finally offered the S550 Citation with GTN integration... A free upgrade for existing S550 owners, thank you, Carenado. Much more user-friendly navigation system than the dysfunctional original default. Flight 1 has a much better version of the G1000 in their C510 Mustang and B200 Super King Air. Not fully functional but much more user-friendly than Carenado's G1000. Now, if Flight1 could just figure out how Eagelsoft implemented a working FADEC into their Citation-X and fix their C510 Mustang to work just as well, I could die a happy camper. But that's another topic for another forum.
