CaptainSim 757 Released!

Featured Replies

I have at least fixed the issue with incorrect jetway alignment.

Quite simply by creating a new custom GSX.cfg file for the plane.

Dean, Service ceiling is 42,000 but when I look around on Flight Radar 24, I never see them that high.  Just a guess as I don;t know how it is coded nor how you have it loaded.  Likely a Captain Sim coding error but just looking at other possibilities.  I haven't bought it yet but am getting close as I don't see any deal killers outside of fuel burn.

I was at FL340 with one SC from FL320. I doubt altitude would make that much difference unless there was a huge wind component  from each level.   Fuel burn for sure needs to be fixed but its not a deal killer. For now, just be aware and take along extra fuel. Not like we have to pay for it. But I did see its on their to do bug list.

Is it just me or has anyone one else wondered why there is no annunciation to let you know the spoilers/speedbrakes are armed for landing?. They deploy normally, and the handle moves to the armed position. But I don't see the status on the EICAS?

It's a long time since I flew the 767 and even longer since the 757, but I don't recl there being any annunciation for this.

The check is to ensure that the handle is in the armed position.

Yes you’re likely correct. Just checked a few cockpit videos and I didn’t see one. Thanks.

There is already a CS757 for FSX and it works pretty well.

Since this aircraft is P3D v4 only, I am guessing that there will not be an FSX version.

From the FaceBook announcement:

"Captain Sim is proud to introduce the new generation of the award-winning '757 Captain' series: the '757 CAPTAIN III' family of expansions for FSX and Prepar3D."

Yearh, I can see that. I think it's a mistake, that they've written that on their website and on Facebook. I would assume, that they've done some bad copy-paste work with the announcement. If you look at their website and the shop you'll see something different. So I doubt it's coming for FSX.

Ya what are the difference between the new 757 and the fsx 757 in the past?

I'm curious about this too as I already have the Captain Sim (version 2?) 757, so I'd like to know what the gain would be if it "(Grand)son of 757" comes to FSX.

They've also put it in the manual:

"The 757-2PW Base Pack is available as ‘one-click’ installer file for each flight
simulator:

For P3D4:
Filename: csy572_XX00.exe
File size: ~220 MB

For FSX:
Coming soon"

Fair enough. Then maybe it's coming at some point... To be honest, I wouldn't hold my breath for it. It's refreshing to see a developer which puts out the P3Dv4 version first.

Hmmm...I dont see the need to be banging the "P3D only" drum. The more sims covered the better, surely. As for holding my breath for it, I'm not even sure I'll want to buy it. I'll need to see what I'd be getting that my v2 version hasn't got.

And I'm more interested in the new Maddog.

I didn't bang on any "P3D only drum" - whatever that is?!

I simply expressed my own and personal reflection, that I find it refreshing and nice to see a developer who prioritizes P3Dv4 ahead of FSX. More and more developers are doing it. It's nice to see, more are joining.

To be honest, I don't know why you would take offense of that sentiment.
