January 2, 20188 yr Just wanted to know how they work together and did the following. Run SF3D (default settings, weather engine active). Open P3Dv4.1 and loaded RA Piston Duke @ EDDM (9 am, local time) and saved the flight situation. TakeOff at RW 08L and climbed until 8000 then left turn dir 120 ° climbing until 12500 ft. Four hours later (local time 1 pm), I started ASP4/ASCA and closed ASCA manually. ASP4 is set to historical weather (force to sim time). Then I started REX SF3D and disabled its weather engine. Booted P3D an loaded the before saved flight situation. After weather injection (REX SF3D active, but w/o its weather engine!). Then I repeated my flight and had pretty the same weather experience as I had four hours before. This is exactly how I wished it to be. For sure, further testing with historical weather at different places at different sim time have to follow to get the whole picture. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
January 2, 20188 yr Did you have the Real Time Sync Mode activated and did it work properly? I am also very interested in this combination and I wonder if the Real Time Sync Mode of Skyforce works well with historic weather by Active Sky. Already any experience by anyone?

Yes, Real Time Sync Mode was active and It seems that it works properly. But to be sure we need some further testings - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

January 2, 20188 yr Have you experienced the ASP4 in-cloud haze effect while using the RSF clouds? I have not seen it yet.

Maybe be we have to go deeper into SF3D settings, but I have not yet touched any, except the weather engine (to disable it). - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

But I turned it off because the RSF clouds seem to already offer a 3-D-effect to a certain amount. That also needs some more testing.

What I'd like know is if the results are realistic: it may work, but what's the use if what you see doesn't resemble real life at that moment. But anyway, thanks for the report, Harry: if I am going to buy SF it will be for use with AS.
January 2, 20188 yr Author So far I am really happy with this combination. I just finished a longer scenic "historical" flight with my A2A C172 in the Friday Harbor - Anacortes - Orcas Island area (sim time June 10, 2016, 10-12 am). I am deeply impressed and I also saw some higher Cumulus walls what I haven't seen since longer time. Performance at Anacortes area was better than expected even with 2048 HD cloud textures. My first verdict: The combination REX SF3D - HiFi ASP4 is a winner! Just one question, is there a possibility to avoid ASCA being automatically loaded during ASP4 start? Currently, I don't want to uninstall it. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

January 2, 20188 yr I plan to buy SF and use with AS2016 so this is very useful. Thank you. The SF clouds look better then any other cloud product to me so i want the best of both worlds and this seems to be it.

Currently, I don't want to uninstall it. I didn't find a way. I started with just disabling all the options within ASCA. Meanwhile I uninstalled ASCA. I am quite impressed by the new cloud structures by Skyforce. Definitely an improvement. I'm not missing ASCA so far. Let's forget about the so-called "Weather Engine" that comes with Skyforce and let's just enjoy the cloud structures and textures - and use Active Sky for weather, like it has always been... ;-)

What Ralf said in the post above about disabling all options is probably the correct solution. But if, for some reason, you really want ASCA to not load at all, you can also simple rename the ASCA exe file. AS16 will just not find it and not load it without any other problems or messages (i've done that in the past and it works without probs). AS Cloud Art.exe --> AS Cloud Art.bak Juste rename it to the original name when/if you decide to use it again.
