I haven't made the KNEW to Marathon flight yet, but I HAVE made the nearly identical KNEW to KEYW flight (I've got LatinVFR KEYW) and know the delta area you're talking about. Good stuff! :-)

Hey Scott:

Downloaded and installed AirNet "We Remember" but it does not show up in the aircraft selection menu.  Tried to fix the aircraft.cfg file by editing some lines to make them consistent with previous entries.  Here are the last few entries including the 2 for N27TT. Please take a look and see if you can spot an error.   N500LL shows up, but N27TT does not. I also rechecked that the correct texture folder was present.

I had a similar problem, I altered a line in the aircraft file:-

[fltsim.17]

sim=Learjet35A
model=CARGO_GTN
panel=RDR_GTN                             I think it may be this one ********

ui_type="Learjet 35A RDR/GTN"
ui_variation="N27TT"
ui_typerole="Twin Engine Jet"
ui_createdby="Flysimware"
description="Learjet 35A"

try that for now

Hi Scott:

Beautiful paints. I especially appreciate "We Remember". BTW, if you are interested, I figured out how to change the ATC call sign to "Learjet" from "Bombardier". It confounded me for weeks until I discovered making the change in aircraft.cfg in the general descriptive paragraph does it. I kept changing the call sign in the aircraft.cfg for each paint with no luck. Little victories in FSX make my day!

Best regards,

Rick

Yeah Bob, that was the line I had to change as well.

Hi Folks,

Oops - sorry for the issue - I had the old version on my laptop where I was doing the packaging - they must have changed the names with the newest models - didn’t catch it - my apologies...

Side note - I made the EditVoicePack mod for AirNet if anyone wants it - for me it’s kind of moot since these birds are IFR and I use RC4 for all my IFR flights - so this would only benefit you if you use default ATC for flights and you have EditVoicePack... I believe AirNet’s call sign was “Star Check”...

Regards,

Scott

OK folks the panel=RDR_GTN was the fix. I should have picked that up if I had looked at the other cargo versions. :laugh:

Thanks for your help!

. Had a good flight from KNEW "The Big Easy" in New Orleans down to KMTH Marathon Key in FL (both ORBX Freeware) in N500LL... Flying over the Mississippi delta as it empties into the Gulf in P3D is pretty cool if you haven't been down that way before...

Hi Scott, I want to fly between the two as well...by chance, do you have a flight plan? I just created one in LittleNavMap. It takes me over the Gulf of Mexico all of the way...is this basically your flight plan? Or, did you follow the coastline?

Hi...

I got the idea from watching that guy on YouTube who flies the Caravan's and TBM's (Steveo) - and he flew out over the gulf - I've flown both ways and I've made the trip half a dozen times switching out the locations in FL for variety...

I normally get all my flight plans from the latest real world approved ATC routing between two points on FltPlan.com (if you have a tablet - they also have a great FREE EFB called FltPlan GO that I use on every flight)... It's great because they also include aircraft type in the approved routing so you can find something similar to what you're flying... I just copy and paste the flight plan into Little Navmap to generate the simulator files...

I've flown both the coastal and over water routes...

I just checked the site - I used KFLL for the destination as they have more flights - gave me a coastal route - you could just mod the tail end if you want to go into Marathon... You may get some mismatches due to different versions of Nav Data - FltPlan is obviously current (RW flight planner) - usually our sim - no to much... I just try different routes or enter the waypoint data manually when this happens...

Coastal Route

  • PC12 from KNEW to KFLL:  CEW J2 SZW J41 PIE.FORTL7

Over Water Route

  • C525 from KNEW to KMTH: BLVNS Q102 CYY

FltPlan.com - - - definitely worth a look and you need a free account on their site...

Enjoy...

Scott
