September 22, 20205 yr I can try and see. Is there a way that on my end I can see what type of voice they are? It's happening to most of them. There were about 4 or 5 that I downloaded from the "free" link in this thread. It was the little program shortcut that just downloads the MS voices. I got all the normal ones. 2 work, and the rest are not. BUT, they all work when they are manually assigned to a function. Just not in the random pool.
September 22, 20205 yr Commercial Member I just got a clearance and here is what the controller said: "Beech One Victor Bravo is cleared to Kilo Sierra Foxtrot Oscar, climb via the GAUCH2 departure , with the GAUCH transition , then as filed. Expect departure runway Two Five. Climb to One One Thousand feet via the departure. Expect higher clearances Seven minutes after departure. Departure on One Two Zero Point Five Five. Squawk Six Three Five Three. " There are commas or periods everywhere and the clearance was understandable. The text the controller says is in white. I'm not sure where you got the text with no punctuation.

No one could understand it, lol. I have had that happen a few times. I will try and make note when it happens again. Now, im just trying to pin down the mystery of why some voices work fine when manually selected for a function, but wont work when in the random pool.
September 22, 20205 yr (sorry for the multi posts, I cant seem to edit a post after I submit). I did notice that where I see this issue is not at the start of the flight. It's when I am give a bunch of instructions after TOD before approach etc. This is where things are totally all in one sentence, and its a ton of info to process while at the flight deck. There were no commas, no periods, nothing. lol. (I assure you 😉
September 22, 20205 yr Okay, some updates on the voices. I decided to buy one Ivanna voice. WOW. What a difference. I was hooked. So.. I bought a pack of three more. I removed the old voices from the random pool and replaced with the new voices. Again, I here the word not allowed windows David again on center! But, when I use them forced.. they work fine.?? So, this makes no sense to me. lol. Help 🙂
September 23, 20205 yr Okay, more testing.. I started totally fresh and cleared everything out. 1. I created a new pool of only the paid voices (I have 4 now) and the few I know work well from before. I have them all in the random folder. 2. I have a separate dedicated voice for my Co-Pilot. 3. When I start a flight, it kinda works.. but, then it will get to a voice, and not like it.. and default to david again. But, the voice that it does not "like" works fine when I use it manually in one of the dedicated slots. So, this is driving me nuts. Because now there is no way to really have a random voice setup? Thease are the Ivonna paid voices too. Now.. I decided to try forgetting about the random pool for now. I loaded them all in the dedicated slots. Everything works perfect. But, again.. it will always be the same voice for the same thing, and thats not ideal. I also have had the program crash a few times when trying to do the random voices.? There seems to be an issue with P2A with the random part of the program. I also notice.. (maybe not related) that in some cases, it take several seconds for the co-pilot to respond to some radio calls? To the point, where I almost think hes not. lol. Not all the time, just sometimes. ? But, I LOVE this program! This is really great!!! Def. the best add-on by far! I think if I can figure out how to get this all sorted, and then if there is a way to add static to the co-pilots voice (like there is for the incoming coms) this would be perfect.
September 23, 20205 yr Commercial Member After a flight where voices fail to load, send me the log file for that flight and I will have a look. Email to [email protected]. Thanks, Dave Edited September 23, 20205 yr by Dave-Pilot2ATC
September 23, 20205 yr Roger Dave! Will do. I will redo the random pool and clear out the assigned (except for co-pilot) and go for a flight! Thanks so much! T
October 24, 20205 yr SunTiger could you please tell me which Ivona voices you're using? Also would be nice if somebody can confirm which Microsoft voices from this link will work with Pilot2ATC - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27224 that will help us save and wasting time on trying to download and installing voices that are incompatible. October 25, 20205 yr Commercial Member Look on the first page of this thread and you'll find a list of all the MS Desktop voices that can work with P2A and a free program to install the MS Voices. Dave

OK. I installed EVERY voice at Captain420's link, and every voice under MS settings that had a microphone. I have 8 voices available in "random voices" (only one male) in P2A, 11 available under non-random (say "destination tower"), again only one male. Of those 8 or 11 only a few speak English as a first language, but most are at least understandable. Under MS settings --> voices I see 29 available, about 9-11 males (some names are a bit ambiguous), and not all of whom speak English at all. If someone is looking for a multi-cultural anti-male group, they've found it here. Something tells me nobody is doing that on purpose here. But that doesn't explain why I can't at least use all of the English speaking voices, first language or not, and why male voices are apparently so heavily discriminated against in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I'm a guy, and the idea of a puppy pile with me, one other guy, and 10 women sounds great, whether English is their first language or not, but that's not what we're talking about here. It certainly is not like that in the real world of ATC. I think something is not right with either my settings, or something else I can't even identify. Even with 11 voices, some have to be duplicated as there are 15 positions, but I can put some of that duplication into FSS, Unicom, and ground or other positions that only get used once or twice per flight (if at all) and not feel like I'm being handed off to the same controller over and over again. If it matters or helps in troubleshooting, Microsoft David Desktop is the lone male voice available (to me, anyway) in P2A. I also would happily pay $45 for a pack of say 15-20 voices that work properly, but I'm not spending $45 per voice, even if I could find them available for even that which thus far I have been unable to do. Any questions, suggestions, or most of all help is requested and very much appreciated. KevyKevTPA (Kevin) PP, ASEL, IA, long time simmer, but new to P2ATC and fs2020 (then again, isn't everybody new to fs2020?)
November 25, 20205 yr Commercial Member Windows shows, and can itself use, both Mobile and Desktop voices. Desktop programs, like P2A, can only use desktop voices. There is a way to mess with the registry and convert the Mobile voices to be able to function as Desktop voices. Dave

Indeed, and it's actually quite simple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5KKop0TVnI&t=407s I installed a few voice using this method.
