AivlaSoft EFB v2

Featured Replies

Is anyone else experiencing this same weird issue of when using AivlaSoft's V2 EFB, it screengrabs a piece of the centre of the screen, be it an aircraft's cockpit view, or the centre of any current active screen and displays it for more than 30-40seconds? Is it a bug in AivlaSoft's latest EFB?

And why don't you ask support questions in the AivlaSoft support forum?

I have to be honest, as a long time user and fan of the EFBV1, I ran the demo of V2 and was far from impressed. I also noted  that the one single change I recommended (and the dev agreed would be a very easy, positive change that would increase usability by customers) didn't make it into the product.

I also noted several problems (and let's try to remember that I do this full time) with the interface between the Data Provider (whatever it's called in V2) and the program.

Very, very, VERY disappointed in V2, especially after years and years and years of waiting for it.  Directly smacks on someone just putting it out there because they were tired of working on it.

Purely for the sake of the community, I have to be honest and say that I seriously doubt I'll entertain any products from Aivlasoft again, with noting that V1 is still pretty good, the entire V2 experience was sub-par in my book.

I disagree completely. I didn't buy V1 after my 30 day demo was up but I purchased V2 straight away.

I can understand that... it's the difference between V1 and V2... just not worth upgrading from that perspective.

Thats fair enough, I just don't think its a bad product. Your initial comment may be scaring prospective V2 customers away and seemed unfair from my perspective.

See, you keep posting, makes me want to start getting specific - which will certainly accomplish the scaring people away.  Sometimes it's better to let a pitch go by rather than swinging at it.

No, not that one,and I can no longer upload images as my previous OZhosting website which Avsim itself recommended way back, has gone belly-up.

If I go to the active EFB window showing the aircraft, routing, etc, it displays the centre of the aircraft panel, say the 1013 Pressure readout; if I move to another webpage, EFB again grabs the centre of such a webpage, e.g. this post.

Will try AivlaSoft Forums, thank you.

I fully agree with you,Dave.Wish now, much as I really like v1 and used it every flight, I had not lashed out good money on v2.

The FPL setting up is a joke!

Just as a different perspective - perhaps the pitch shouldn't have been thrown at all. The OP wasn't asking for opinions on the product - he was asking a specific question about a specific issue.

Just sayin......

I’m also finding myself going back to V1. I’m not a fan of the way AI traffic is displayed v2. Also v2 seems more cumbersome to me. In v1 I’m up and running in seconds.

The learning curve for V2 coming from V1 is frustrating at best. However, once you get familiar with it, the power of the program becomes evident. IMHO it's worth the extra time if you like that type of product.

Fully agree with you, on that score, Vic. I can still create FPLs but only if I use Route Finder, whereas v1 used to allow usage of FSX(could maybe also apply to P3d, dunno)-saved PLN flight plans.

But that very annoying bang-centre-of-screen capture,as I have posted originally, is making me regret purchasing it now

I'll have to go home and look at it again. Either I don't get it or I don't notice it. Occurs at what point in the load/execution ? The routing window?

Hi Vic

Take for example a PFPX-created flightplan that I used today, to fly the FSL A319  from EGCC-LEPA.

Fired up AivlaSoft's EFB v2, and fired up the Route Finder-created flightplan which was totally different to the PFPX-created one. No, big deal, as long as I could use the Aircraft tab to locate the A319 on the EFB display, when, lo and behold, bang in the centre of the EFB was a screengrab, of the cockpit(only the dead centre)which was running in the background. Also, for example if I opened this Avsim screen, with both the P3D v4.3.29 sim and EFB running in the background, and went back to the EFB, I now see a screengrab of the centre of this post.

Never had that happen in v1, and before anybody suggests maybe it's a browser issue, I counter that by asking how come with the P3D sim, and PFPX running in the background, I get not a single screengrab. Only happens with v3 EFB. Only wish I could post an image of it.
