It supports Navigraph and has an excellent moving map. I was an early adopter of EFBv1 and used it for a number of years and then LttleNavmap came along and I found that it largely replaced EFB particularly in combination with SimBrief which is also freeware. Now we have EFBv2 with some new features but they are more in the way of nice to have and IMHO don't justify the (discounted) asking price for EFBv1 users. But I can understand that if you have never used EFBv1 or LittleNavmap that you would be quite taken by EFBv2. Bruceb Bruce, does LittleNavmap support flightplan creation that can be imported into the NGX? August 26, 20187 yr Moderator Reading through these posts no one has mentioned one serious flaw in EFB v1. Ai traffic would disappear from view during flights especially when the departure was from a major airport. The data was fed via SimConnect and the channel eventually became blocked. v2 uses FSUIPC so that is one big problem solved. The other process I found laborious in v1 was the selection of the SID and STAR. This involved several selections and some info had to be repeated. Having to choose Arrival and then Approach and select the same runway twice was not good. v2 improves on this massively. The sidebar showing route and aircraft info is also a big improvement over that undocked window that sometimes had a mind of its own where it would be positioned. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 26, 20187 yr Ray, If you've never tried Little Navmap I'd give it a whirl. I'm very impressed. Two things it does that EFBv2 doesn't do right now - Displays Topographical data and it supports X-Plane. Here's a screen grab from my flight right now. If I recall correctly though, didn’t v1 have a little section where it would say “wind favours runway xx” i cant seem to see anything like that on the v2 depp/arr screens Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

Dean, I’ve been using LNM for several months and it sits on the left half of a 27” 2560*1440 display running via WideFS / SimConnect. I use it purely as a geographical map, not a navigation one. So if I’m flying over a city, lake or river LNM will show me its name. EFB does show terrain but only for some parts of the world. EFB sits on the right side so the two provide everything I need. XPlane? I haven’t turned to the dark side yet. 👍 Ray (Cheshire, England). Beat me to it and sometimes they are just grey. There is a tab next to the runway procedure tab that thats says metar or something. That tab shows xwind and head and tail component of each runway so you can choose that way but it seems you need to be a fair way on descent for that to work. Edited August 26, 20187 yr by zmak ZORAN

I suppose that can happen if the winds are 90° to runway headings. Go to an airport where you already know the wind direction and setup a flight from there. The runways should then match the wind direction. Use Shift+Z a couple of times to confirm wind speed / direction actually running in the sim. I use AS16 and haven't noticed any issues. I was also on the beta team and this problem wasn't noticed. If all else fails post on the support forum. Edited August 26, 20187 yr by Ray Proudfoot Ray (Cheshire, England). There is a much better and easier way to know which runway(s) to use with EFB v2. Click on the airport (destination or departure) of your flight (left side bottom of your screen), on the new window you will be presented with the weather and the runways at that airport, on the second tab of that same window (PROC), you can choose the runway you wish (click on it), then will be listed all procedures leading to (or from) that runway with SID or STAR with their respective orientation so as to link it to your flight-plan. When done, just click the AUTO button and you're back where you were before.
August 26, 20187 yr Moderator @Jean-Claude, I was aware of that feature but @GHarrall‘s issue is more about the correct weather not being seen. Good tip all the same. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 26, 20187 yr Simply make sure that your link to AS 16 is correctly set in the links, I never experienced that in two months. Furthermore weather should be available at all times throughout the flight anywhere on the map if the weather tab is pressed (bottom button). Also make sure AS16 is started before EFB, otherwise no weather info will be available. Edited August 26, 20187 yr by Jean-Claude
