Fired up AivlaSoft's EFB v2, and fired up the Route Finder-created flightplan which was totally different to the PFPX-created one. No, big deal, as long as I could use the Aircraft tab to locate the A319 on the EFB display, when, lo and behold, bang in the centre of the EFB was a screengrab, of the cockpit(only the dead centre)which was running in the background. Also, for example if I opened this Avsim screen, with both the P3D v4.3.29 sim and EFB running in the background, and went back to the EFB, I now see a screengrab of the centre of this post. Never had that happen in v1, and before anybody suggests maybe it's a browser issue, I counter that by asking how come with the P3D sim, and PFPX running in the background, I get not a single screengrab. Only happens with v3 EFB. Only wish I could post an image of it. Sounds like something is really screwed up in your setup, and I seriously doubt if it is EFB. Why not post this on their forum? Have you tried a complete reinstall? As Bob says - something is screwed up in your install. Hopefully the Aivlasoft folks can get you squared away. August 25, 20187 yr I have been using the demo of EFBv2 for a couple of weeks now with a split screen display so I can view both versions simultaneously. Honestly there is very little of significance that you can do in V2 that you cannot do in v1. They have changed the way some things are done but haven't added all that much. Then there is the freeware LittleNavmap that does a lot of what either version does and I am left struggling to justify 60 Aussie dollars for the upgrade (and that is after the 20% discount for v1 users). August 25, 20187 yr The old EFB problem persists: AivlaSoft EFB is no flightplanner, was and is not intended to be a flightplanner. It is a Chart program. So, if there should be a comparison, then with Aerosoft or Navigraph Chart Tools. And even this does not fit as AivlaSoft shows the Chart Data from your in-Game scenery and not from the (mostly more actual) real world. No one would have the idea to plan a route with Navigraph Chart Viewer … Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bruceb Bruce, forgive me if I am wrong, because I do not have EFB (thinking about it) and have only just installed LittleNavmap, but LittelNavmap is surely more for GA flying and does not offer things like SIDS and STARS, is this not the case? I had EFB v1 and there was one aspect where the graphical procedure where not accurate, because of navigraph's procedure mostly row data sometime without altitude so instead of a virage they where straight line and on complex one's they where a little bit caotic. The only great aspect that I enjoy about EFB is the switch freq of vatsim online Atc very handy on complex approach.

There are some missing bits occasionally when the procedure has some complexity or some altitude restrictions but all in all compared to navigraph charts subscription costs, efb is much better value and also provides more features imho Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 25, 20187 yr Been using V1 for a long time. Love it. Was excited to see the new version. I only used the 30 day trial thankfully because like Dave I am disappointed in it. I still use v1. Richie Walsh

Little Nav Map uses SID's & STARs quite well. When you right click an airport and select Procedures all available SID's & STARS and Approached are listed. Click on one and it is displayed on your map. Right click and select and it is inserted into your flightplan. That was by way of explanation - let's stay with EFB2 - I use both for varying reasons. Probably what I like most about EFB2 is the visual moving map representation along your approach profile. What I like least about EFB2 is having to essentially relearn the steps from V1. I thinki it is a good investment - another tool to use. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

As has been pointed out above LiitleNavmap does offer SIDs and Stars selection with visual on-map display and is much more than just a GA flight planner. It supports Navigraph and has an excellent moving map. I was an early adopter of EFBv1 and used it for a number of years and then LttleNavmap came along and I found that it largely replaced EFB particularly in combination with SimBrief which is also freeware. Now we have EFBv2 with some new features but they are more in the way of nice to have and IMHO don't justify the (discounted) asking price for EFBv1 users. But I can understand that if you have never used EFBv1 or LittleNavmap that you would be quite taken by EFBv2. Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened."
