August 23, 200619 yr >>it was such a fun thread!! It provides hope that any second>>that long awaited beta will arrive :) >>Any second that long awaited beta could arrive. :)Drum roll please... :)I agree, I like the excitment on this post, sort of like wondering if I won a contest or a draw!If I don't make the beta, oh well, better luck next time, I will still be a winner in October :)
August 23, 200619 yr Yeah I admit I was getting a lot of adrenaline pumping just waiting for the beta to arrive. After each passing day this lead to increase in testosterone levels :-mad :-lolI feel better now and have moved on to a different hobby (motorcycling) until the beta arrives. However I still find myself wondering just when it will get here? From tdragger's blog the problems sound minor and would not take long to work out. At least for the talents on the Aces team.

At least for the talents on the Aces team.>> My girlfriend and I worked out our budget and she decided (isn't that how it always works) that we have enough extra to upgrade my computer now. While this isn't a FSX-centric upgrade, it does coincide rather well. Not to mention that the first thing I ordered was the CH flight yoke. Now I am twiddling my thumbs waiting to see which gets here first, the yoke or the beta.
August 23, 200619 yr you will love the yoke! I couldnt live without it. The throttle is excellent too....perhaps you can ask her for a throttling good christmas present?? :)
August 23, 200619 yr >you will love the yoke! I couldnt live without it. The>throttle is excellent too....perhaps you can ask her for a>throttling good christmas present?? :)Once I get the computer built, I'll be picking up the throttle quad and rudder pedals, and toss aside my X-45 and Logitech Formula Force wheel for good (I use the wheel as my trim wheel, the gas and brake as my rudders...so unrealistic).I just couldn't handle not having that yoke anymore. I've heard nothing but good things about it.
August 23, 200619 yr I know it sounds strange but, before I got my throttle quad I used the x-45 as my throttle. I just turned the X-45 backwards and mapped the throttle as the throttle but reversed the axis...it give the "feel" of using a real throttle even if the two sides of the X-45 arent independent...try that out for the time being..it really does have a nice two engine throttle feel about it.
August 23, 200619 yr That's actually exactly what I was planning. I like the feel and the range of the throttle, and until I get the quadrant, I plan on using that.I can't imagine why I never thought of turning it around. I was staring at it on the left side, and was ###### by that. It just didn't occur to me.
August 23, 200619 yr yeah, I was trying to figure out a way to get the main stick out of the way...I almost took the joystick apart but I just said "hey...lets flip it around!!"
August 23, 200619 yr >yeah, I was trying to figure out a way to get the main stick>out of the way...I almost took the joystick apart but I just>said "hey...lets flip it around!!" Well, NewEgg Trumps Microsoft. In my little household bet, I was waiting to see if I would get my CH yoke or the beta first. Turns out, even though I ordered my yoke yesterday morning, it arrived this afternoon. That is seriously the most satisfying flight sim experience ever. I already love this thing.
August 24, 200619 yr >can't help this you bought your yoke at new egg......wowDid I miss something? I've done my computer shopping on NewEgg for years. This was part of a $700 purchase towards my new system. The yoke just got here ahead of everything else.
August 24, 200619 yr nothing wrong with NewEgg at all I just thought that "new egg" and "yoke" was punny! :)
August 24, 200619 yr >The yoke just got here ahead of everything else. The yoke came before the...nevermind
