Something to check out and mentioned before is that AIG plans by default compile with everything at 1%, meaning if you have your p3d traffic at 2% you are essentially getting 100%. I have always used AIFP to randomize them to a more usable level.

Has someone tried some ai sound packs for these great ai planes?

I cant't hear any ai sounds with the aig package with the standard installation procedure - or am I doing something wrong??

I use AIFP and adjust the activity for the plans from 1-50% for everything except the big fields, use 1-40% for them. With the P3D 25% for commercial and 20 for GA I've got a lot of traffic but the level feels about right for me.

Thanks! That little nugget just saved me some time. I'll stop fooling around with the slider and go fly. I'll tailor the densities to the way I like them later on using AIFP.

You're welcome and I hear you. I'm tired of the endless tweaking, I've got things pretty well dialed in for my system. My New Year's resolution was to stop the tweak insanity so I've put it down. Even stopped looking at the FPS. Just flying now and it's really nice.

I did a couple of flights with Radar Contact running, and it seems to alleviate some of the headaches. RC4 is the only thing I have that uses FSUIPC at the moment, but it is the free version and doesn't have the limiter available. I think I'll make my own utility that will let me zap or divert anything that gets in my way.

"Staying with"? Aren't they kinda like 2 peas in a pod? AIGAIM is just a wrapper to d/l and install plans and models easily. Weren't most of the plans created and models assigned to the plans using AIFP (or similar tool)? I'm just asking out of curiosity as the full extent of my AI knowledge has been using WoAI's installer (which AIGAIM replaces), and using AIFP for creating new plans and making updates to existing ones. I just thought they were complimentary to each other, not mutually exclusive. I have both installed now. I know I will be using AIFP on a fairly regular basis in the near future, but AIGAIM will remain in my rear view until I want new airlines or updated plans. However, you must admit that to people with average joe computer skills, AIFP can be a little daunting. But by following the 9 simple instructions in post #1, our average joe's grandma can install some AI.

Precisely. AI was the last piece for me (for now) in my transition to P3D. I kept hearing references to AiG "having everything you need". I kept going over there looking, and while they have tons of info, it looked like I was going to have to roll up the sleeves and start manually compiling flight plans and downloading and assigning models. I happened to be over there looking to read up on changes since FSX and I stumbled upon the AI Manager. 20 minutes later, I had traffic. Gotta love it when a plan comes together.

As to the FPS - same here. I locked the dang thing at 26, and it stays pegged at least 95% of the time. I have NO tweaks. Everything is as LM set it. Every once in a while, it'll stutter and make me mad, so I force myself to remember flying in monochrome ASCII graphics on a TRS-80 (remember the $100 2 axis, 1 button, looks like it was built in shop class and science lab joysticks?) and all becomes well in my universe again. Overall, I've been very happy with P3D.

just a quick question cause te program is now runnign over 3 hours and still busy with the green moving bar und the bottom right that says "loading configuration files"..

Seems nothing happens....

Any advice on this ? tried it different times

Just close the application and fire it up back up, you may have to end the task in the Task Manager. The initial collection process on start up of Airports, SimObjects and Flight Plans seems a little bit wonky sometimes, especially if you're firing up the application for the first time or after you update it to the newest version.

Thanks Jacek, but i allready did that about 20 times..... Still the same. Even if i delete all files and start up from scratch it always hang at this point

Which version are you using? You may try to get help at their forums, they're very quick to respond and are very helpful. The product is still in public BETA so any issues you report will only help future development efforts.

There are a couple of log files in the main folder. Take a look at the end of the one with the newest date. There's always a clue.

I've been watching the development of this the past few months, and actually tried for the first time this morning. This is absolutely marvelous!! Completely revolutionizes AI for me in P3D. I too am considering un-installing UTL. It can be a time hit when first downloading some ai, but it ain't you that is doing the searching. Just click some buttons and go do some chores for a while, (you will have to be present the first time around to log in to the sites that are being downloaded from). 

How do we know when new AI becomes availble in the app? 

I really want to watch for my Canadian Airlines.

Also in the application itself, top menu Online option allows you to check what's available and the other option in the menu lists everything that's available.
