Live ATC can this be a reality

Featured Replies

Wow Impressive,

This is exactly what I'm after?

I'm having limited success, but nothing as nice sounding as what's in the Video.

Where, What, How? ( Is this just a Wish List or for Real)

LiveATC.net has been around for years. I often play it via their iPad app for whatever airport I happen to be at to add ambiance.

I do the exact same thing.

I'm going to create an Excel spreadsheet with airport/ICAO/link on my client laptop so I can 'switch frequencies' faster 😁

Off topic I know but a quick question for the OP...

How are you getting those excellent winter textures for runways and especially the taxiways?

Thanks,

Lloyd

Hey @Noell that is all FlyTampa's work with their KBOS v2 or redux (forgot how it's marketed)

I use what's called a stereo mini mixer - cheap to get on Amazon.  You can combine multiple signals into one audio stream which means P3D and ATC.net so it all comes from one source.  Sounds more realistic than playing it through an Ipod/Pad next to you.....

In work we will have on live atc.net playing on the speakers,( as well as fr27 on the screens) if we have a potential divert going to happen due to weather belows Minima.

I lost count in 10 years when a busy occ goes spookily quiet and then sighs of 'nooo, bloody hell, whose got the dairy milk" as the Boston or Orlando makes it approach and diverts.  You know youve got 2 hours of arranging buses, hotels, refilling of flightplans, slots, ordering fuel, then issuing of lrv vouchers, then phone calls to the press office, commercial departments,on call managers, duty pilots, then updating twitter and Facebook feeds, you name it, it gets manic, but all part of the buzz.

Then right in the middle of it the crew will ring up and ask the girls in crewing (whist there trying to find 15 rooms in a hotel for the crew) about their annual leave next week....got to get your priorities straight when you're flight deck....

We had it a few  nights ago a divert followed by a heavy landing load 15 which caused an extended phase 1 check. Thing was still aog when I left in the morning.

To get "Live ATC" in your sim check out L.A.A.P. (Live ATC AutoPlay) @http://laap.atc.free.fr/regusers/telechargementlaap-en.php

very easy to install, takes a little bit to configure live streams, but once you figure it out, it is VERY easy to download new stream links and install. I have been using it for over a month now with no problems at all. And best of all, it is FREE....at least for now anyway. It is so much easier than "LiveATC Chatter" which is payware.

Thanks I'll check that out.  They just added a C-47 Live ATC video on the Flying Squirrel channel.  Can't wait to do some of this.
