Justsm's EBBR

Coming from you, Benjamin, having read your posts over the years I have been in Avsim, if I am not too mistaken you may know about the Justsim EBBR downsides because you are from that region? Please correct me if I am wrong. So, that's 2 votes for Jo Sund. May well be worth the wait in the long run. Glad I stopped at the Buy Now button.

I’m actually from the Netherlands, Rick, so please don’t take my word for it 😉 In fact I’ve never been at/through EBBR. My opinion on Justsim’s scenery comes from staring at the pictures on Simmarket endlessly. I’ve been thinking whether to buy it ever since their 20% discount started. I’m a sucker for European hubs, because I like the proximity of all these airports to each other. But eventually I decided not to go for it as I’m not too convinced by its look. To me, Justsim airports tend to look too ‘clean’ and a little ‘sterile’. Which doesn’t mean I dont like any of them... I do quite like their Luxembourg and Moscow Vnukovo. But for this EBBR... I’ll wait the months or years for Jo Erlends version. As I said, his EDDK is very well done and really feels like an airport that’s ‘in use’, and that’s exactly what I want from sceneries I buy 🙂

I just tried to install EBBR V2 and the installer goes through the whole process and then a window pops up that says:

This installation package could not be opened.  Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package.

Looks like the default scenery to me.....

Here I have the last updated JS EBBR version and it looks very realistic .

I have been to Zaventem multiple times so I know how it looks.

Imho JS airports have that dull grey look over them, but that is how buildings look in real life most of the time. Not that Polaroid colored look that some developers make their scenery look.

JS is including the latest techniques and I see how they have improved on developing over the years.

Look at Basel : also made by FSDT. The last one has just released v1.3 and almost every improvement in their updates was already there with the 1.0 release from Justsim.

Icw my photoreal scenery from Belgium with custom AG from Matthias ( fsxforum.de) and Prealsoft Brussels (just released) the Justim version of EBBR blends in perfectly.

There is always something that can be improved but imho JS is getting better abd better with each new release..

They also update their existing airports once in a while so the latest techniques + latest reallife changes are being included for free. Only Simmarket makes the installer abd they charge the few euro/dollar for the updates.

While I agree with your EBBR remarks, this one makes me scratch my head a bit. What do you think regarding the following review ?

By the way, I have some elevation issues at EBBRv2, some Autogen buildings above ground level near the intersection of Runway 19 / 25R. Do you see this too or maybe something wrong my setup.

The JS version is twice the size of the FSDT version.

I do not own a Basel yet but EBBR I do have and that one is great.

No AG buildings above the ground here. Perhaps it has something to do with the mesh user and/or mesh settings ( Vector too ? )

Are there any configuration options for EBBR V2 on P3D V4? I've installed it but can find a configurator or any way of adjusting things. There are no static aircraft of anything! The manual contains zero information of any use.

JustSim sceneries don't typically have configurators, and for as far as I know there are no static aircraft. Personally I use AI aircraft, so I've never ad a use for statics anyway. As a matter of fact, I always turn them off...

No problem!

If I may ask, what's your reason for wanting statics? Is it to complement or replace AI aircraft? And if you wish to replace AI aircraft, is this out of performance considerations, or something else?

I ask, because I found that AIG's OCI is a wonderful way to add countless AI aircraft to your virtual skies. It is FREE, easy to use and relatively quick, and allows you to select airlines you may want and not install ones you may not want. If performance is your issue, you can select a random assignment of traffic visibility percentages that will allow you to turn certain AI routes on or off by using the sim's AI traffic slider. Overall though, I found performance to be good.
