July 15, 200619 yr Commercial Member radar contact is also always "on-line" and all airports have a controller JD Read my blog
July 15, 200619 yr Oh yes Jd, I meant that FS's ATC advantage over VATSIM is that any runway you choose will have a controller anytime, anywhere (if TWR/AFIS equipped). Forgot to mention that RC4 does that too. cheers.
July 21, 200619 yr DON'T COUNT THAT OUT YET! ;) There *MAY* be something MORE advanced than you realized coming!Carmine http://forums.avsim.net/images/wave.gifhttp://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7118/phoenixtp8mg.jpg
July 21, 200619 yr Hey.... I am still flying FS2002 :( and I wonder when a patch is going to be release for FS2002?ATC clearing me to land and advising to following the aircraft on the runway? Than just as I reach the runway, ATC tells me (a 747 heavy) go around? Ok folks this is your captain speaking; sorry bout that, a C172 was still on the runway and and and we're going to do a very tight left hand circuit and we'll be fine.. After 8 hours in flight, another 10 minutes won't hurt anyone,, thanks for flying "go around airlines".Some days I feel like stealing that F16 over younder and doing a fly by... That'll wake those guys in the tower up :-lol
July 21, 200619 yr >DON'T COUNT THAT OUT YET! ;) There *MAY* be something MORE>advanced than you realized coming!>Hey Carmine, do you mean "something" from RC team or from FS'?Now you are making me anxious. Do I hear a speech recon here?? ;-)
July 21, 200619 yr "Hey.... I am still flying FS2002 and I wonder when a patch is going to be release for FS2002?"They did release several "patches". One was called FS9, another FS9.1, and are about to release the latest one FS10.Regards, Carlos
July 22, 200619 yr And is this problem patched in FS9.1? I sure hope the third patch FS10 will fix this problem. :-)PS: I was only joking
July 22, 200619 yr Something that I developed for FS9 and NEVER released.I gave out 2 free programs for FS9 and got a handful of compliments for them and never a donation of course. So I decided to wait and release a version for FSX for a small fee of course. YES it will be voice recognition but that's all I want to mention for now. Until I get FSX in my hands, I can't finish the interface for it yet. :-)Carmine http://forums.avsim.net/images/wave.gifhttp://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7118/phoenixtp8mg.jpg
July 22, 200619 yr If I'm not mistaken, I read somewhere that an SDK will be released specifically for ATC in FSX. This alone will have the most dramatic impact on ATC now that 3rd party developers will be able to work within the constructs of the provided FSX code. In my mind, the built-in voices, hopefully improved, will be utilized by these developers so we won't have to download or install additional wav sets unles that's the goal of a particular addon package. Maybe someone will release a freeware ATC-Editor much like AFCAD2 was for airports. When it comes to addons and fixes regarding ATC, we probably can't even imagine where ATC will be in a year or two.If you build it, they will come....AL | KCHS - Charleston AFB/Intl | USAF 437AW (~53 C-17's)FS9/Game Rig:AMD64-4000+ SanDiego OC=210/420/2520 | Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe | Corsair TwinX2048-3200C2PT (2x1GB) 2.5-3-3-8/[email protected] | Evga NV 7900GT v84.56 (1280x1024x32/4xAA/16xAF/High-Quality) | Enermax 550W PSU | Thermalright XP-120(mm) HSF | NV 1GB LAN | NV SATA-I Raid-0 223GB (3x80GB Samsung) (WinXPx64/Games) | NV SATA-II WD 320GB (Backups) | IDE-0 80GB Samsung (Archive) | Realtek AC'97 5.1 Surround | CH Yoke, TQ, & Pedals | FS9.1 (Settings max'd/60-40Vis/No-Shadows/20FPS) | WideFS v6.16 | FSUIPC v3.617 | FSGenesis Mesh (All) | PMDG (All) | PAI (All) | FSBuild2 | EtcFS9 Support Rig:AMD3200+ | Gigabyte GA-7NNXP | Leadtek NV 5900 | Corsair TwinX1024-3200 (2x512MB) | Intel 1GB LAN | SiI3112 SATA-I 80GB Samsung | IDE-0 80GB IBM | JustCom 4port KVM | FS Wide Client | ActiveSky v6 (512x512x32bit / Wx Influanced)| Radar Contact v4.01 | FS Real Time | FS Flight Keeper | FS Commander | AI Smooth Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
July 22, 200619 yr I've read over at ATC2 forum that Brad is planning on a new enroute simulation and he added a possible hint that it may be able to control fs pilots and AI traffic. Have to wait and see could be promising.
July 23, 200619 yr As soon as RC supports VFR and voice recognition I'll be with you. :9 But anyway... Maby we'll see improved voice recognition and TTS stuff coming along with vista?! The sapi engine seems to be quite outdated. :-scatter Greetings: Doc Nobby
July 25, 200619 yr >If I'm not mistaken, I read somewhere that an SDK will be>released specifically for ATC in FSX.I think you may be mistaken. Perhaps you're thinking of AI traffic?
July 25, 200619 yr I hope ATC addons can use the default FSX voices. Surely the SDK would support this simple request?
July 25, 200619 yr >Just a few minor tweaks and bug fixes. We've had to place our>investments elsewhere with this last release. Full details>should probably be out in the next few weeks.Pshhh.... Talk about the things that REALLY need improvement to be more like the real world and those are further postponed to the next release...
July 25, 200619 yr Author Hi,There is nothing stopping current addons from using the default voices if desired (there is an FS2004 Voicepack SDK). However, most addons want people to say more than the phrases recorded in there, so cannot use them.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
