By implication any update in that post is to a ratified, certified, hotfix compatible version. DOH.

I'm not annoyed, I'm frustrated. Big difference. But I am working through the situation to eliminate things. This takes time.

So, your recommendation, is that when any update comes, we uninstall ALL our addons, even before knowing if there is any problem.

Not at all!

My recomandation is that before one spreads the news about how awfull the HF (or a new version) is (and I'm not talking about you specificaly here but about that guy that tested the new build under 5 minutes and came here to write how bad it was), he or she should go through the first and foremost test with a vanilla setup. This applies to those who indeed have an issue!

That's why I wanted to know specificaly what one has installed as addons (you included) to minimise the risks that I will brake my setup to.

You might be one of those who know exactly how to update, what to look for, what to save, what to delete...but I assure you that there are many many others that don't (just look at the REX Radar thingie).

So since you obviously have some issues on your end, I "beg" you to undergo the normal debugging steps, which implies testing on a vanilla version and to report back what happens.

I'ts where you setup P3D without any other addons! There is a function for that in the menu.

Those having issues should always try that before anything else. If that one fails then there are other steps needed.

Same thing is happening to me, whenever I try to change the autogen building density I have a CTD

I installed the HF, deleted the prepar3d.cfg, deleted the shaders, updated the Active Sky.

Everything seems to work but I have one issue though, the CRJ for example is black outside and the P3D menu is looking strange, most probably due to reshade or tomatoshade, do not know why (when I switched from 4.4 to 4.5 I did not have that issue).

Any idea how to fix this?

edit: solved it, I applied again the preset in the Tomatoshade. Now waiting for the FSLabs update.

Greetings all!

OK, this might seem like a silly question, but with all the posts regarding v4.5 and the HotFix I've become rather lost 😜

I am currently still running v4.4 and have not downloaded anything from the LM site. If I were, say tomorrow, to download v4.5 Client, Content, Scenery and install them, would I still need the HotFix? Has LM updated the files for downloading so the HotFix is not necessary for those upgrading at a later date?

Sure. And I am. But uninstalling everything isn't the most effective debugging method. Uninstalling everything is perhaps the way to go for people with no real techy knowledge.

At present I have a situation where my 4.5hotfix runs perfectly, except is CTD's every time after a few minutes of flight on climbout. It's not the plane, as I've tried several now. It's not my F1 GTN750 cos I tried a plane which doesn't use that.

So I tested it by preping the plane for the same flight, but never taking off - and then no CTD, even after a long time.

So now I have to work out why it CTDs as I fly/climb. Perhaps it is PTA shaders - something which could be affected by altitude for example.

So when I get back today I will be testing that aspect.

But uninstalling everything will tell me very little. If I did get to the uninstall part of testing, I would do it by halves, not everything.

The hot fix is included in the download. There is not a separat patch file to download and install.

Does the CTD happens only in one particular airport? have you tried performing the flight in a different area? IE: P3D default location?

Also have you updated you content and scenery packages as well?

Early days in testing this as I've hardly been home the last few days, but yest I will test at more than one location.

I did Client and Content reinstall. Didn't do scenery as it didn't seem to say it was critical. Anyone know different?

The latest hotfix is a vast improvement for true earth and highly recommended . Only issue is the trouble spot of London . The sim wants to run at 30-40fps over uk but judders back to 15. As you can see from attached image I believe I am running out of RAM Vram and standard memory .This is on JVs recommended settings . I have an RTX 2080 and 16 gig 3200mhz memory.

I have tried every adjustment I can think of and cant improve.

Your help gents would be much appreciated so close to a perfect sim every other area is fine and ftx England over London is smooth. 

Is more memory required about £100 just for London not sure I can justify it  

 

Someone has now said that SkyForce is not compatible with the new update. That's news to me.

However, I only use SkyForce textures, and not it's weather engine, so I doubt the incompatibility is affecting me.

Will keep an eye on it and update it when they release a patch.
