May 29, 20197 yr So back when 4.0 was released I had an issue that prevented me from flying to or within Hawaii, I would get a CTD. I seem to recall several others mentioning this in different forums at the time. Speculation as I recall was it was an AI ship that was from fs9 or something? I just gave up flying to hawaii for awhile. Fast forward to 4.5, and I still can't fly to Hawaii without CTD. I have all of the default AI ships removed, I use that awesome package. I keep my FSDT sceneries up to date. I'm not sure what the issue is. I tried googling and searching the forums, to see what the ultimate fix was, but nothing came up, almost as if it was never a problem in the first place. Someone tell me I'm not the only one with this issue. Haha. And any tips how to fix this will be much appreciated. Thanks. -Tony@PVD Tony Moore
May 29, 20197 yr Do you use mytraffic? I believe that was a possible cause. Ever since I switched to ut live I haven’t had that issue. 5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram
May 29, 20197 yr Author I've never used mytraffic. I used Utlive from the beginning of 4.0. But switched to AIG with their simple tool very recently. Tony Moore
May 29, 20197 yr In my case My traffic caused this for sure. Ever since moving to UTL no more CTDs for me. Can you paste the error log? Shom MSFS2024 running on Win 11, 4K screen, Z790 AORUS ELITE AX-W, i9-14900K, MSI 3080Ti, Corsair 2x32GB 6000 MHz, 1+2TB M.2 NVMEs
May 29, 20197 yr Author I'm not as smart as most of the others on this forum. I learned to build my. PC just for FS. Where do I search for the error log? I'll try a flt today if I have time and look for that error log. Thanks for the help. Tony Moore
May 29, 20197 yr I use the Hawaii Photoreal product with all there airports, FSDT airports, and ships ai with no issue. I disable orbx and there freeware airports when I fly in Hawaii. Josh CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /

Make sure that you have the latest version installed and that all vestiges of any previous versions have been removed. Have a look at this thread:

Funny, I just installed that package very recently, and thought I followed the p3d V4 instructions very well. I'm currently trying a SFO-HNL, just out of SFO now. If it CTD as I fully expect it to, at least now I'll remember how to figure out what's happening. I'll update this post in a few hours. Who knows, maybe today will be the day I finally make it to HNL. Tony Moore
May 30, 20197 yr Author So the only thing changed since my last failed attempt to fly to HNL was the 4.5HF. Somehow, I landed safely in HNL. I wish I knew exactly what fixed the issue. I'm going to be making several Hawaii trips over the next few weeks now. Hopefully the CTD problem is over. Thanks for the help guys! Tony Moore
October 26, 20196 yr I returned to Hawaii after a few months during which I had updated to P3Dv4.5. I encountered seemingy random crashes. At FSDT PHLI they were reproducible. With HPS activated loading the aircraft at a gate caused a crash after the scenery finished loading. If I started the flight at the default runway (35) which is about a mile from the gates all was well until I began to taxi to the ramp. I got halfway before the crash. No crashes with HPS deactivated. Long story short, I found an agn file in the HPS texture folder that was responsible. Adding a .OFF extention fixed things reproducibly at PHLI. I have since had other crashes at other places which I have not rundown because of the time and tedium involved. I am able to use George Keogh's airports without HPS and I think that may be it for me unless someone more knowledgable knows a somewhat painless way to fix. Steve P. There's a compatibility issue if you do and there are 3 scenery files that have to be turned off. These 3 scenery files will not cause a CTD though if left on. Do you have an error report in the Event Viewer (see page 8, AVSIM CTD Guide). Or you can download and run AppCrashView (see page 7, AVSIM CTD Guide). It should show a faulting module and that provides a clue as to what caused the crash. 1 hour ago, paradisca1 said: With HPS activated loading the aircraft at a gate caused a crash after the scenery finished loading. What is an HPS? Whatever it is, you got no crashes with it deactivated so that is a major clue. Did you look for an update to HPS? Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! Reading the detailed instructions for installing this product, the developer indicates you need to check your anti-virus program for any false positives that might have been quarantined by Windows Defender (or any other anti-virus program you might have installed). Recent updates to Windows 7 and Windows Defender have enhanced security and, what was not found in earlier versions, may have been found in the latest version of Windows Defender. This happened to me recently with ASP4. One day it was working great then I started seeing random crashes. I have Windows 10 though and this might have contributed to my issues. Another known issue is the addon.xml created for your P3DV4.5 scenery. Do you have Lorby_Si's excellent Add-on Organizer? Opening that up, you can go to the Tools tab and it will check all of your configs and .xml's to make sure none are corrupted. Lockheed changed the encoding for these configs after P3DV3 (I think). If the manager finds any corrupted configs, you will have to get them fixed using Notepad++ - https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/ . I am not familiar on how to repair the encoding for corrupted xml's or configs. You can try to uninstall/reinstall the product. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! Which model file (. Mdl) are you using for the saab 2000 and saab 340. An older model will cause a CTD. If the 340 model is called for example TFS_saab_340_FSX. Mdl You want to swap it out for the new P3Dv4 model file. TFS_Saab_340_P3Dv4_v2.mdl. Which can be found on the AIG forumn. This is the same for the aig/tfs saab 2000 Edited October 26, 20196 yr by fluffyflops
