July 18, 20196 yr I start to think I will go to a trip around the earth with this new sim as he will hopefully offer us the possibility to see it as it truly is. Mainly short legs to fly low. Does anyone thinking the same? What would be your route?

Mainly short legs to fly low. Does anyone thinking the same? What would be your route? I'm doing that now in XP11 using the FSEconomy game as a mission generator to pay for the trip. Makes it more of a challenge to pretend I'm an itinerant charter pilot needing to find work along the way, and not a billionaire doing it out of pocket for fun. 🙂 Short hops in a Carenado Pilatus PC-12, under 300 nm mostly, except for a few long overwater routes that can't be avoided. Personally, I wouldn't want anything slower, and faster would feel like cheating, but YMMV. As for the route, I started in my home area of Washington state out on the NW coast. Flew North along coastal B.C., then along coastal Alaska over to Japan where I am now, dawdling around and enjoying the scenery before moving on. I'll take a mostly coastal route through SE Asia. It's tempting to visit New Zealand because it's one of my favorite areas for flight simming, but that may be too much of a detour. Then India and the shortest route from there to Europe, the Greenland crossing and over the northern route back to the PNW. Maybe favoring Canada because I haven't done much flying there. It will take a long time because I can't choose the most efficient straight routes flying in FSE. Lots of zig-zagging to find paying assignments going in generally the right compass direction. July 18, 20196 yr One of the first things I did in FSX was to plan a trip to visit all the high definition cities and airports and collect all the badges available. Except for one flight, these were all continued from the last airport I landed at. The exception was the 747 from London to Sydney, but I connected both ends of that flight with other flights. I flew a variety of aircraft until I needed an amphibian to land at the south magnetic pole. I fell in love with the Goose and used it as much as possible afterwards. With approximately 400 high definition cities in the new sim, I probably won't get around to visiting them all for a while. The airports are probably similar. We'll probably see something similar to the badges in FSX so at least that will help plan the flights. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! July 18, 20196 yr yes actually. In FS9 I flew across the US and back in the Mooney I think it was (you had to remember to switch fuel tanks along the way). I used ATC and always started from where I left off. With FSX the ATC seemed sorta messed up and with the trike I just started flying anywhere and everywhere without regard to any rules. I wouldnt mind trying again with some rules and flying across the country discovering new places -- especially with a continent of photoreal with autogen. and I loved the Goose as well. It had great sound if I remember. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.
July 18, 20196 yr The sound of the Goose still gives me goosebumps! Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

I know several LSA-class aircraft have gone around the world, but, I don't know of any the size of a trike flying even across the U.S. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

The sound of the Goose idling from the rear external view is the most beautiful sound in all of FSX. The Beaver had the same sound set but with only one engine it wasn't quite the same. 🙂 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

July 18, 20196 yr I will fly from Manchester (where I live) to Carlisle because it’s a flight I know well in real life, the scenery should be lovely and variable and it’s a good mix of sprawling city and wide open mountain ranges.

Tell me you have Orbx TrueEarth for Great Brittain... 😀 wonderful wonderful package and exactly the reason us simmers shouldn't shun any of the flight sims out there, try them all!
July 18, 20196 yr No, the last orbx thing I bought was the fsx Britain one. I just got xp11 and really like it, but really just treating it like a stop gap until this comes out.
July 19, 20196 yr Commercial Member Also, frustratingly, orbx have yet to release this for prepar3d. 😞 Owner, Fulcrum Simulator Controls. fulcrumsim.com facebook.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols instagram.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols twitter.com/Fulcrum_SC
July 19, 20196 yr Yes, it is definitely frustrating waiting for ORBx TrueEarth GB Central and North to be released for P3D Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
July 19, 20196 yr When did orbx get into xplane anyway? Last time I was into flight sims they were adamant that the market wasn’t there for them.
