P3D Professional Watermark

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have P3D Professional.

I notice that it does not have the watermark at the upper right corner of the screen.

Is this a distinctive feature of P3D Pro?

Or did I do something I was not aware or I do not remember?

I think you only see a watermark for academic (maybe developers version also?).

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

The academic version only has the watermark.

Hi Davis,

I paid $199.00, the regular price on LM Website.

Why do you ask please?

Because unless you have a particular licence requirement, the pro version and academic versions are basically the same but the latter has the academic watermark. The academic version is much cheaper than the pro version.

The Pro version allows you to install on more than one computer. I attend a monthly flight sim meeting where members bring their laptops with P3D Pro installed. Their desktops remain at home.

Without the Pro version they would have to buy two copies of the Academic version. They prefer the Pro option.

Hello Ray,

the normal Pro is single PC only. The developer license allows for two parallel installations of Pro, but with a watermark.

Best regards

Please make sure to read through the license terms, specifically chapters "1." and "14.13.". The latter explains what "Academic" means, who qualifies for the license - and who doesn't.

Hi Oliver, ah, my mistake. Thanks for clearing that up. Does the same apply if they rent rather than buy?

Hello Ray,

I have both payment options running and extra Pros for the different versions of P3D. As far as I can tell there is no difference, Devel is Devel, it doesn't matter how you pay for it.

Best regards

May I suggest that we keep in mind the boundaries

Thanks Oliver. I was just curious about what each version gave the user.

I’m aware that discussion on the different versions is a sensitive area. I wasn’t trying to break any rules.

Check with your bank and they will be happy to explain the differences among the three versions.
