October 24, 20196 yr Hi All, Yes. I've called the upcoming sim FS 2020. Sorry but you all know what I mean. Having been extremely disappointed that I wasn't accepted for the first round of alpha testers (just kiddin') I was wondering if any members here perhaps were? Now, I'm not expecting a definitive yes due to probable NDA but was wondering what the FS 2020 team were looking for in terms of initial testers. Would it be people with incredible rigs with real cockpits, multi-monitors, the most up-to-date hardware, etc. or perhaps the more 'general' setup. What do you guys think? Cheers Darren
October 25, 20196 yr I have the 32 gigs of ram,a 9900K overclocked to 5000,but only a base 1080 video card.I am running P3DV4.5,FS Labs A320,payware scenery's,and airports, weather program, and ad on textures, most of my sliders are to the right, and I am happy. But each version of Flight Sim has always been a step backwards,as far as compromises,we will be busting open the wallets again, this is the insanity of this hobby. For me, that's exactly backwards. I buy monster computers for my games, and performance in flight sims is a secondary bonus. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. October 25, 20196 yr I was under the impression that Osobo/MS were looking for testers from the lower end as well bearing in mind that they will want to sell to all of us. Actually I did not apply and surprisingly, I was not on the the list of testers .... However, I definitely qualify under the lowest rock.... eerrrrr .... system specs. I do believe however, that this new sim will be good for all of us in varying degrees just as it has been since flight sims came into being. Those with the money and/or resources will obviously get the most out of it. Just wondering though, how many testers were actually given a crack at this new baby? As usual, regards to all Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). RAM 32gb Corsair Vengeance (2x16) 3200mhz. 1 x Gigabyte Aorus GTX1080ti Extreme and a 1200watt PSU. 1 x 1tb SSD 3 x 240BG SSD and 4 x 2TB HDD OS Win 10 Pro 64bit. Simulators ... FS2004/P3Dv4.5/Xplane.DCS/Aeroflyfs2...MSFS to come for sure.
October 25, 20196 yr Funny: I'm not, nor do I have any desire to be an Alpha Tester. (But I sure can't wait for the finished product). Kept getting CTDs in FSX-Steam, so I recently added 16gb's of RAM for a total of 32gb. The extra RAM seems to be the solution - have not one CTD in two months...

Doesn't sound related, FSX can't use more than 4GB. Also I didn't get into the alpha, I have a 7700k @ 5.1ghz with 32gb ram and a 2080ti but I suspect my 100/40 net is too slow (Australia) Who knows that they really wanted though.
