That was posted yesterday, so it should open today 🙂

Yeah, I've corrected the title, I forgot to change it to "today". 😂

What do I do?

I'm upgrading my computer to these specs within the next month.... AMD 3800x, X570 Aorus Ultra Wifi, 32GB Ram 3200 Mhz, 1TB M.2 Nvme, keeping my 4TB HDD and GTX 1070. The 1070 will get replaced next year for a RTX 3000 GPU hopefully just in time for MSFS, along with another 32GB of RAM to reach 64GB (going to work some overtime to pay for it all so not to annoying the wife).

I'm I more likely get on Tech Alpha 2, with my old Rig or more likely get chosen with the new setup?

On a side note I have a feeling that the GPU is going to be the bottleneck for MSFS thats why MS at the recent MS event at Seattle, MS used a 9700K Cpu (ie. why not use the best current CPU in using the 9900K/S) and 2080 TI (which has 11GB of VRAM, so I think large amounts of VRAM is crucial) along with 64 GB of RAM.

AMD 9800X3D,  NZXT X73 RGB AIO COOLER, Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7, 64GB 6000MHZ RAM, 4TB Samsung Pro NVME, 4 TB Crucial P3+ NVME, 4TB Crucial SSD, Gigabyte Gaming OC Geforce RTX5090, Antec C8 ARGB Case, X55 JOYSTICK/THROTTLES, LG 4K C4 42" TV/Monitor 120 Hz, 2 Dell 1080 monitors. Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Bravo Throttle. Thrustmaster TPR Pedals. Moza AB6 FFB Joystick, Pimax Crystal Light VR, Tobii Eye tracker, Steelseries Arctis 7+ Wireless Headphones.

No one knows the answer to most of that, other than asobo/ Microsoft.
Also, I thought they used 8700k chips in the Seattle machines? Generally there is virtually no difference between the 97 and 99 chips in games, sometimes the 99 is actually slower in some benchmarks.

They used 8700K in the Seattle machines? That's good news for me 🙂

 I am running an 8086K at 5.3Giga snots 😛

Unless you need a new system soon for other games/software, I would wait until the next generation of CPUs, which will probably be out before the simulator's release. Your current system is not weak and it should be able to run the simulator, even if at lower settings.

If you do get one now though, I'd go with the 3700X and dump more into the future GPU.

Registration is open again now..... go go go.

I continue having trouble registering.  I create the dxdiag.xml file but I get an error message with trying to upload.

error with upload"

This was occurring also when attempting to register for alpha.  Anyone else encountering this  error?  I cannot on that website determine how to contact.

www.\flightsimulator.com

Why the backslash? That's not a valid URL.

Typo here only, which I just corrected.  Thanks, Bill.  Obviously I could not be on the website trying if I made that error trying to reach the site.  I'm where I need to be.  Following the instructions to the create the dxdiag.xml. Verified the file, but the upload results in the error message replicated above.

Web search yielded results.  A number of users reported that after repeated failures with other browsers Edge was finally successful after multiple attempts.  On my third attempt tonite the upload worked with Edge.

A question for those that have registered....

I've just changed my dxdiag file (new PC) and I went over my previous answers. For average internet download speed I had entered 40mbps. Although my published speed is 300mbps and speedtest.net tells me 333.86mbps, this is only to the local ISP. As I live in deepest darkest Asia I don't get anything like this to anywhere meaningful, so I entered 40mbps.

A couple of questions:

1.) Should I use 330, as that is what speedtest.net is telling me and in the question MS just say use speedtest.net and don't specify which server location to choose.

2.) How did you write your answer? for 100mbps are you writing 100 or 100 mbps or 100mbps or something else?

Thanks
