First, that's not what you quoted initially.

Second, using your own link you are not helping your case: "[...] has not and may never become available.".

Been working with software and programmers for 3 major companies since the late 80's, but I guess you are the expert.

Using your logic, 100% of software that has not been released yet is vaporware. That simply doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, vaporware definitely doesn't just mean stuff that's in active production with regular updates. That's a well-known word used for products that sort-of disappeared off the face off the earth, turned to... vapor if you will. If that also included regular things that is currently in production, it would be a completely superfluous word that loses all meaning.

The day it is released, and I can get my credit card out and purchase it, it no longer qualifies as vaporware. BTW, where can I purchase MS2020 today? 😁

Technically Star Citizen is vapourware, but I've been exploring, mining and trading quite happily for the last year and it just get's better with every patch. Anyway, the title of this post was MSFS2020 vs P3D v4. No, there is no verses! FS is literally on another level in every aspect. I have been flight simming since the 80's and spent thousands of pounds on hardware and software over the years, my P3D v4 is fully kitted out for European flight and without doubt the best sim I ever owned! Until now. I watched everything and I read everything available on FS, then I uninstalled P3D v4, X-Plane 11 and all of the addon's because I just cannot bare to fly them anymore, it just leaves a bad taste. If you don't believe what Asobo and MS say then I'm afraid that's your problem, but it seems to me that there is more than enough evidence to suggest that FS will be coming and soon

Since you're reluctant to apply logic to your arguments or actually read the dictionary definitions you post here, I will leave it at that.

The problem is that people take things out of context and simply ignore plenty of new facts that get released by the developers on a weekly basis. Despite the latest update displaying the most sophisticated aerodynamic physics simulation we have ever seen in a sim, apparently we are still going to get some sort of Flight 2.0. Facts don't matter if they don't fit your narrative...or maybe they're just alternative facts?

Hope you didn't burn your car and started walking because the upcoming editon hitting the dealers in one year looks in PR videos better then your old model.

I use a dictionary that is well known, not some obscure one.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/vaporware

: a computer-related product that has been widely advertised but has not and may never become available

Notice it says MAY not

Bob, this is not the first time you’ve tried arguing this point, you were doing the same thing yesterday in the “trainwreck” thread.

”Vaporware” is not an obscure term, anyone who knows a bit about tech understands its meaning.

The Level D 757 and Orbx LC Asia could fairly be described as vaporware.

MSFS2020 is clearly not.

”You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

Cheers!

Yeah, I’m in the same place (I think).

Super excited about MSFS 2020, but it doesn’t change anything I’m doing now. Back in a P3D mood, and having some great fun flying it again after a few months off due to work stuff.

I’m sure I’ll still be flying both after the new sim is released.

I just need MSFS 2020 to approve my tech alpha 1 build access.  I am sure they have already contacted key players in AVSim already - those are just quiet due to NDAs.  I am willing to sign the NDA (already have signed so many this year already on other sim/non-sim related projects) too - lol.

I am excited about the sim, I am hoping lot of new fixes, new strategy are used.  It should be refreshing design as the new Tesla Cybertruck

As for P3D - I am only using Orbx Global+Vector+openLC+high end airports, AIG+FSReborn AI Lights Pro  with PMDG, Majestic, FSLabs, A2A birds to learn flight controls in depth - that is it.

Though kinda annoyed at new but old bugs about road lights not showing up at few places when using Vector.  Worn out about the bugs

We all have to try it first and only the we will know how it behaves compared to P3D + True Earth series / France VFR series + weather addon, but without airport addons ....

P3Dv4 :

As for visuals not even close and as for the skies oh well 😉 Time will tell and then you could still enjoy both, but my guess is we will see a major move...

But then again we have still folks enjoying FS9 😨
