need a good amphibian but not the norm...

Featured Replies

I have Milviz DHC2 Beaver amphibian but I'm done with it. I just can't get it to fly well. It pops off the ground on takeoff with a lot of "up" and I run out of down trim.

Carenado C185 flies much better and I can use that if I need to but I'm wondering if there is a third option and no I'm not interested in the twotter either, to big.

There are so many wonderful seaplane bases/cabins thanks to ORBX and RTMM in Alaska et al that I feel I'm missing out, but I've got to have something good to fly.

If nothing else I can make the old Carenado's C185 amphib work. I'm just wondering if I have any other options.

Ciao!

Hi Brian check out Lionheart Creations Quest Kodiak

I really wish Carenado would do a Caravan amphibian (non g1000)

Just Flight has a 172N float plane that pretty good too.

I like the Cessna T206H Soloy Turbine Pac Mark 2 FSX & P3D a lot, and it‘s even freeware! I fly it with Flight1‘s G500/G600 and GTN 750 combo.

Be careful what you wish for, because it might come true.

Carenado makes all my dream aircraft, sadly they all fly and operate like #%#€£$! 😉

Meh.  I find their small GA to be reasonable.  Alabeo not so much.  (They're like the cheap version of Carenado line)

Their smallest aircraft aren't that bad, I agree. The 208 however is terrible with those "invisible spoilers" armed when retracting the power levers...

That's correct and apparently you've never installed the optional patch. I like the 208 a lot, so I designed a completely new FDE with the help from an actual 208 pilot.

That one I've even modified so that it works with the FSX default 208 and uploaded it to various flightsim sites.

Your comment; sadly they all fly like #%#€£$! applies only to the very old Carenado/Alabeo aircraft.

Brian,
Not sure if you have the redone M. Shupe Mallard. ( another self advertisement 😎 )
Fly it quite regularly on our Sat. flights. 😉
It's over at the Outhouse & an update kit to x64 is here.
Best of all?
It's only $0.00, and if you get 2 during this special promotion it is still $0.00. ( add shipping and handling plus a service fee - $0.00 ) 😂
