When the NDA is finally lifted, I'm sure there will be so many shots, people will be sick of them..... 

The screenshot forum will be inundated.

An NDA usually outlasts the release of a product by several years.

Now I'm trying to imagine a circumstance that has testers not able to post pictures when everyone else is...

That's a good point, and since I've never ben involved, I don't know how that works.  Usually they aren't allowed to discuss development and testing of the product, methodologies, etc for a good amount of time later

Previously where I've been involved, they will reach the point in development and close enough to release where they simply announce to testers one day, "Hey guys, its that time; you are now released to go forth and flood the net with free advertising for our product! Go! Go! Go!"

Typically MS announces to the testers they are no longer bound to the NDA.  In that plain a language.
