March 7, 20206 yr Hello fellow simmers! I am interested in purchasing the QW787 for P3Dv4, however with FS2020 round the corner, I'm still very interested to buy it. However, I would rather not "rebuy" or simply abandon the aircraft when going into FS2020. Therefore, I was wondering whether anyone had any idea based of experience/ knowledge of whether this would potentially be a "rebuy". I'm aware of the lack of info from developers, but any thoughts would be nice. Or should I (painfully) drop it and just wait to buy the PMDG 747 for FS2020 when it's converted? 😁
March 7, 20206 yr Commercial Member Conversion is not going to be that quick as people think.. There is not magic button or bullet for software code or 3D design. And it is not FS2020. It MSFS, there is not official release date. But in any case each company has its own policies on this, ask the software developer via email and see what they advise. My advice would be to enjoy what you want now. Regards, Simbol Oficial Website: https://www.FSReborn.com Discord Channel: https://discord.gg/XC82TqvKQ3

March 7, 20206 yr Bear in mind that any advice on this kind of question coming from developers should be taken being fully aware that they have an obvious conflict of interests.😁 My disposition would be to put my gratification on hold if I can discern a better path in the distance. Making well informed and wise decisions requires, well, information and wisdom. But! It's not a house or car purchase. But! FS is an expensive hobby over all so even $30 matters more in that context than it does on isolation. I'm in a FS addon purchase holding patern. Not that I don't buy but I have a great set of rules that govern my purchases. First rule is never buy anything unless its on sale.
March 8, 20206 yr You could be waiting a pretty long time for stuff to make it into FS2020 from FSX or P3D. My advice would be to get the QW787 if you want it. Sure it is not the cheapest FSX/P3D aeroplane you can buy ($79.95) but I would say it was one of the best (and this is coming from someone who bought it for FSX and then bought it again for P3D). And in fairness, it's not anywhere near as expensive as some other stuff out there, especially when you consider that you actually get three variants, the 8, 9 and the 10, with two engine option, RR and GE, making that six in total (and yes, the diferences are more than eye candy). So each variant works out at $13.32, which is pretty good. In the end it's up to you and your wallet, but frankly, I'd probably blow that much on a decent night out with my friends and have nothing to show for it the next day other than a hangover, which is why I don't mind buying FS add-ons, since they don't dehydrate you and make you wake up with a headache, and they last much longer than a pint of beer. 🤣 Edited March 8, 20206 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 8, 20206 yr Hey Chock- I went over to Flight1 and looked at the QW 757. Am I reading the price correctly? http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=qw757p3d4

Assumptions have been made that we'll all be playing MSFS this year, but maybe, maybe not. The 787 is a good addon and if you're interested in it, I wouldn't let MSFS be a deciding factor. Two years ago we were all assuming we'd be playing Flight Sim World and look what happened there eh? Not saying MS would pull the plug on their sim, but certainly the present virus issues worldwide are not exactly gonna help matters. Don't be surprised if it changes its name to FS2021. Meanwhile, the QW 787 is available right now and it is one of the best and most fun P3D airliners there is. Rule of thumb: addon developers will empty your pockets if you let them.

March 8, 20206 yr Author Thanks all, really appreciate your replies! Anyone know any else good "upgrade" aircraft (I have the FSL.) Thanks!
March 8, 20206 yr Author EDIT: It says there was a 50% discount for users of the FSX Version when the product was ported to P3Dv4, does anyone think this will be the same with MSFS?
March 8, 20206 yr The QW787, IMHO, can be disappointing if you've already "stepped up" to something like the FSL series, PMDG, etc. The displays are awful (slow refresh rates, wrong fonts) and it doesn't handle STARs correctly, for starters.
