April 11, 20206 yr Honestly I can't wait to see the back-end of this issue I use ASP4, SkyForce and EF. My clouds, for some time now, are displaying in a grid like formation. Blocks of clouds instead of random overcast. Has anyone ever come across this issue? I have had it happen before but not sure what the issue actually is? If anyone can shed light on it or let me know if you have the same issue, that would be great. I'll have to take it up with REX and Hifi, but i thought Id just leave it for now seeing that V5 is imminent. I'd still like to know what's causing it though, and hope i don't have a re-occurance of it with V5. I'm thinking it may be to do with the SF /EF combo Erich Edited April 11, 20206 yr by ErichB

I'm thinking it may be to do with the SF /EF combo Erich I gave up some time ago, the square clouds were just a killer for me. The never-ending "It is HIFI issue" and "Sorry, it is REX issue" was just too much for me. I ended up uninstalling REX SF and EF, and shifted to ASCA, Envtex and Envshade and since then I haven´t face the issue anymore. I think that the issue was coming from EF but I was not able to prove it. Ramon De Valencia AMD 9950X3D / 64GB DDR5 6000MHz / RTX 5090 / 1200 watt PSU MSFS 2020 and 2024

April 11, 20206 yr That is odd. I've been running AS4P with REX SF and EF since I upgraded to P3D almost a year ago and haven't encountered anything as jarring as that yet. If I had to guess, Sky Force uses those square shapes to fill in the bulk of an overcast layer and for some reason isn't getting to add the rest of the cloud shapes in around them. No matter what the name of the country on whose land it lies, an airport is a place you can see and touch that leads to a reality that can only be thought and felt." - The Bridge Across Forever: A Love Story by Richard Bach

I opened a ticket but REX answer didn’t addressed the issue so I decided to uninstall both. Ramon De Valencia AMD 9950X3D / 64GB DDR5 6000MHz / RTX 5090 / 1200 watt PSU MSFS 2020 and 2024

April 11, 20206 yr Are you certain it isn't the server issue from AS as mentioned in their March 23rd notice? Are you running the new Beta? Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. April 11, 20206 yr @ErichB and @ttbq1 I run ASP4 + ASCA + EnvTex and I have never seen the cloud patterns shown in the pics. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
April 11, 20206 yr This is ActiveSky issue, because AS is responsible for cloud placement. I have seen all kinds of weird line formations and I have just given up on caring about it, because apparently neither does AS.

It is true that AS is responsible for cloud placement but the issue was resolved 2 years ago... We all have those patterns when using RES and HiFi in combo but some don't fly in the conditions needed to see them, others don't bother to open theyr eyes.... You would find plenty of reports on the closed REX forums for this issue. April 11, 20206 yr I agree with Erich. It looks ****. A bit like generic landclass with clouds Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

I have had this for about 4 months now and also sporadically before that. In my experience, the formations are not particularly (or at all) noticeable until you get to 30,000 ft or above. Then it is distinctly noticeable. As I fly airliners almost exclusively in the sim, I see these patterns in every flight. Any guidance would be appreciated, although i'll probably pop over to the REX forums now, as mentioned. Although, it would be useful if REX/HiFi could address the issue here (if they see the message) in the open, so everyone can benefit from it rather than having to go scratch around closed forums for the answer. This is a significant issue which should be addressed more openly Edited April 11, 20206 yr by ErichB
