April 14, 20206 yr Given that you have your v4 ORBX installed via Libraries (add-on.xml method) it is very easy. 1. Open and update ORBX Central. Close it. 2. Go Do your Library Folder(s) and rename the folder(s) therein from p3Dv4 to p3dv5. 3. Open ORBX Central and you should see all your add-ons active (green circle). Download/install Global Base, update ORBX Libraries and Object Flow. 4. Start P3Dv5 and confirm each add-on to be used. This can take a while, depending how many ORBX titles you have. 5. April 14, 20206 yr Very nice! Thank you! Saves copying and taking up twice the space. This leaves open the possibility of renaming p3dv4 and p3dv5 back and forth, depending on which sim you really want to run... April 14, 20206 yr Were you able to install Global outside the root directory. One of the devs told me that it is possible now (yay we don't need vector anymore that is progress) How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)

Enjoy My ORBX products are installed in the sim itself - not the Libraries. That was the choice I made. So, I guess this won't work for me. Is it worth my going into each product and migrating it to the library before installing P3d5? Stan
April 14, 20206 yr After installing P3D v5 - running the fresh installers for Orbx via Central, I notice that Vector cannot be added for v5. Is this normal or they just didn't get around to updating that one? Mario Di Lauro
April 14, 20206 yr Orbx has already said they are not updating Vector for P3DV5 as it is not needed. V5 already has better vector data... PC: AMD 9850X3D, RAM 64GB, Geforce GTX 5090 (32GB), MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024, Pimax Super 50PPD, Quest 3
April 14, 20206 yr Vector is not needed anymore. I got exhausted with that product; LM fixed many things. This is progress, some old bugs got fixed and sim improved How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)

April 14, 20206 yr Author I've just realized that ORBX add-on airports like KFHR, KORS etc. are not displayed in P3Dv5. Even when green and active in ORBX Central. Also uninstall/reinstall of those airports did not cure it. I checked then the corresponding add-ons.cfg in "Program Data" and found that those airport entries are still missing. Normally, ORBX Central should handle this. Edit: Adding airport entries manually to the add-ons.cfg does it. KORS and KFHR are now correctly displayed in P3Dv5. But I got all my big area addons like TE GB and FTX NA or FTX AUv2 and Landclass transferred as described. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

Also ORBX will appreciate it, people not clogging up their servers with unnecesarry reinstalls. That is why the library system was introduced in P3D in the first place. ;)

I did it all tonight. Moved everything into ORBX Libraries. Thanks for the excellent tip. Well, we'll see how it goes when I install P3dv5. It only took me about 45 minutes or so to get everything converted from "inside the sim" to the ORBX Library. Thanks Nemo and Farlis Stan
