Does it take up twice the space or from same library folder v4 and v5 installed? How do i move Global.?its the only ORBX that needs to migrate. Hitting the button nothing happens.

Michael Moe

I'm in the middle of doing this now and it seems that it does take up twice as much space in the library - one for v4 and one for v5.  I am unsure if I've done anything wrong.

Given that you have your v4 ORBX installed via Libraries (add-on.xml method) it is very easy.

1. Open and update ORBX Central. Close it.

2. Go Do your Library Folder(s) and rename the folder(s) therein from p3Dv4 to p3dv5.

3. Open ORBX Central and you should see all your add-ons active (green circle). Download/install Global Base, update ORBX Libraries and Object Flow.

4. Start P3Dv5 and confirm each add-on to be used. This can take a while, depending how many ORBX titles you have.

5. Enjoy

Any chance I could get a picture of your scenery library in P3DV5? For me, the Orbx files are intermingled with LM files.

For anyone who has installed orbx global, trees hd, openlc north america and buildings hd, could you please post your add-on.xml entries for those. I am trying to figure out what's wrong with my install. I am using the latest OrbX Central 4.1.6 in P3D v5. But when loading up the sim, things are looking out of order.

Could you explain more on this because i also find things weird . Maybe its because of the lighting as well because trees looks really weird.in the sim.

Addons is placed automatic by ORBX i guess so no need to move or change order under the add-on section  i guess ?

I'm not sure about your install, but for me I'm using the external library (add-on.xml) method where it installs my Orbx add-ons outside of the main P3D folder. On my previous P3D v4 install, I had it installed inside the main P3D v4 folder. I am trying to do things right this time from the start so that I don't have to deal with the frustrations of having addons from different developers overwriting files and such. But for me, when flying over the default airport in the F35, I get certain patches of black areas. I've already tried verifying the files in Orbx Central and still no go. I have a feeling that something is not correct with my add-on.xml files. So if you or someone else can post yours, I'd like to compare them with mine. I appreciate it.

ORBX has admitted that they have flickering issues with trees.

Nemo, thanks for the info. Now it's time for me to start digging in to see if I can figure out what went wrong here. Greatly appreciate it.

Is this is how it's suppose to look flying at dusk? Not sure if my orbx textures are showing properly. I remember that when flying at dusk/dawn/night, that it had more lights and was a lot brighter than this. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm in the process of migrating my p3d V4 Orbx product to the P3dV4 library newly created.

I notice that there is by default a "Main Library" created. There is no mention in the Central help about the difference between this Library and any other created for V4 or V5.

Is this main library is just for Orbx Libraries and are shared by all simulators. Or Can we migrate directly our products to this main library and they become the facto shared by the two versions?

update: well change nothing. If I try to migrate to the Main Library, it creaes a p3dv4 subdirectory in it so no difference.

There was a short time that only one (main) library did work. After an update this was repaired. I'm using now two libraries.

Sorry for late answer.  ..

It looked the same on my first try. But then I removed the library again from ORBX Central (do not delete the content!), renamed the folder outside of OC to "NEWNAME" then created one new (main) library. Then I moved the content of the "NEWNAME" folder in blocks (20-25 ORBX titles) to the main library. After each block I started P3D and confirmed all add-ons.

After this, P3D scenery library appeared nearly perfect sorted. I've used also Lorby-Si Add-ON Organizer later on to make some small adjustments.
