Alpha invitations are now continuing to be sent out after a brief pause after 1.2.10.0 was released. Here is the priority for the team currently.

  • Ensure that everyone that received an acceptance email has access to the Alpha.
    • Status – Nearing completion.
  • Assess Alpha participation options for adding more people as quickly as possible.
    • Prioritize access for those that registered early for pre-release build testing.

Is this some kind of choreography? Wonder how it looks like with the music on.

If not, we are in for some complaining about synced animations I guess! 😄

Don't know why, but when I saw that clip, I was reminded of this: 😆

The presence of animals and vegetation justifies the "FS2020" moniker.

You know, this is soooo unrealistic. I know because I've never drooled over a Cessna 152 before.  Now...if I could only find one that nice in real life...with 800 lbs useful load to carry fuel and a second passenger. 🙃

I also noticed a couple different version numbers for those latest pics. Or one that is 1.2.50?

Or did I read that wrong? Its kinda early and my brain isn't working fully right now.

And this one : oh my, that sun/glare is just wow.

The Athens shot is on 1.2.5.0, the build before the current one. Two others are on 1.2.10.0, the rest are unspecified. Though those with the A320 are definitely on 1.2.10.0 as it wasn't available before.

The lighting in this sim is so far ahead of our current sims that it continues to blow my mind. It's so natural looking.

Am I the only one that thinks the Athens pic is running at low settings?

Despite being out of alpha, I hope I can at least test in a future beta

They've said anyone who signs up for testing will get to test eventually. So no need to hope.

Though that could easily mean something like a month before release stress test or a closed beta for all insiders.

I think they still have a long way to go until they have the full build in testing, that when performance will be tested and any issues found.

We know sir, you say this every other day.  You probably hope this sim never gets released.

Building density and lighting seem good, and texture resolution seems on par with the Bing imagery of the area. I'd say that probably the anti-aliasing is not turned up, the other screenshots look smoother.

If anybody has any doubt about the level of depth they are aiming for, just look at the patch notes from the A320 release.

Agreed! So many people have said that there's no way the A320 will be study level. Although, I doubt the default A320 and 748 will have the same level of detail of something like a PMDG product, it really looks like it'll be pretty word not allowed close. These guys aren't playing around. They're honestly striving to create the best sim they can - and it certainly looks like they're pulling it off. Cheers to you Microsoft and Asobo. And thank you!

Agreed. All the other sims don't create how the sun looks correctly because they don't have much or any bloom or light leaks. I think the lighting is one of the things I'm most impressed and excited by.

I aggree that anti-aliasing is not turned up (or on) in this Athen-screenshot.

But it's a pity that Bing and Google Earth have to invent each scenery twice! There is so much more detail in this part of Athens if you compare it with Google Earth. (But it is not made by Microsoft!)

There is definitely some AA on, but it's probably a cheaper FXAA or SMAA solution. The leaked settings menu screenshot revealed that there's a TAA option, which can reduce aliasing more but also induces a noticeable blur on the picture.

And yes, that is a real shame indeed. Google has better data overall, and even my tiny hometown has photogrammetry in Google Earth. We can only hope that Bing will continue to upgrade their imagery and put the AI to work on more cities for photogrammetry renditions.
