Separate P3D V5 forum?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We are now at P3D V5 and by now things get pretty cluttered with messages for P3D V3, V4 and V5
For Microsoft FS, we have forums for

  • FSX
  • FS2020
  • FS2004
  • MS Flight

Maybe it's time to create a P3D V5 forum.

Egbert

Agreed! And it would be nice to have regional subforums, for those of us who love flying in particular areas.

I suggested this quite some time ago.

Apparently we got a tag system.

To the OP: This is the P3D v5 forum!

Whilst there's always some heated resistance to new P3D sim versions around here, history shows that people steadily adopt the new version over the first few months, including many of those who protest loudly at launch time!

Here's my post defending the almost-universally-derided new sim that was definitely not worth upgrading to and not worth the money and not compatible with anything - called Prepar3d v3! 🙂

If you look at the issues discussed around this "new" sim, it's just like groundhog day again for the current release. And v4 was exactly the same.

In short, v5 will quickly become the mainstream P3D sim platform, with a few people hanging on the v4, the same as there were a handful still proudly flying v3 in the v4 days.

You could certainly have a separate forum for the older P3D versions, but the future is here now and it's called "Prepar3d v5", and - despite some current negativity - this version will account for the great majority of topics discussed here over the next 2-3 years.

It's possible also to "copy" SOF and create only to sub-forum :

 - Prepar3D v1-4

- Prepar3D v5

It is very likely that Prepar3D v1-4 users will be less and less numerous in the future so grouping them together doesn't seem like a bad idea to me.

Best of luck with this guys. We asked for the same thing with V4 since it was x64 and had its own unique issues. The staff refused to listen.
