Next Potential P3Dv5 Update will be 5.1

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Few days ago Rob casually mentioned 5.1 and today on post at pmdg - RSR mentioned 5.1.

Looks like LM is working hard and improving the sim (very grateful); they know about pbr issues etc.

Just giving heads up - enjoy the sim (I know I am especially with the fun tweaks).  MaddogX for V5 is Wow!!!!! and even the Queen's weather Radar is working.  These addons are sure keeping me busy.

Be Safe and have fun

Thank you for the hads up

i also would be a happy camper as soon as they fix the crashes when switching to outside view and back 😞

Cannot even check the pushback route withouth crashing 😞

HF2 is being beta tested. 5.1 won't be out until September/October.

Source?

It's what I would expect, but I'd like such a statement to have originated from somewhere reliable rather than just from an educated guess.

I'm holding off from v5 until it's a lot more stable.

I though I saw a post that HF2 was immanent too. As in next week. BUT if it was I am sure it would have already been posted on prepar3d.com and it would be all over the place so I doubt it.

...as for the 5.1 timing, it's just logical based on past experience.

Not sure why you're asking for a "source" from me instead of OP.

It was a comment posted  by a beta tester elsewhere. There has been NO official announcement from LM that I have seen.

Because the OP stated where his info came from.

Your comment re: 5.1 was written in a way that could appear as a statement of fact, rather than as (educated) conjecture on your part. That's how rumours start.

Thanks for clarifying.

Well, after running v5 HF1 since it came out, I sincerely hope they keep improving the program.  Although I enjoy it every day, the performance that was promised, when addons are included, really starts to degrade the sim in several ways.  I really don't want to HAVE to use a program like FFTF (although I bought it), because I'm really hoping for a "tweakless" sim at this point.  Not having Vector in ORBX creates many elevation issues that can be resolved in 4.5, but not in v5.  The regular default airports in V5 have a lot to be desired, and lighting issues have been uncovered and talked about on this forum.  I'm still competing with traffic at FL30 along side cars and trucks.  Airport and runway signs float all over the place along with houses and buildings.

I truly believe Lockheed Martin reads this forum daily, and they hear about these things.  I'm confident in time that this sim will be as reliable and fun to fly as version 4.5.

So, I look forward to either another hotfix or 5.1.  Thanks, LM....keep up the good work.

I wish that they named the original release as an open BETA until things start to stabilize and all problems are ironed out instead of this bi weekly major required updates (FSW as an example).

but I'm over here and ready for a full installation once a new release is out.
