Anyone catch the leak posted on Reddit earlier?

I think it will be released this year, maybe in December.

Asobo Is located in Bordeaux, FR and that means 82F° from June to early September.

Do you think that in Europe, a common domestic home of a worker has and open tap regarding A/C? Only a few homes have A/C and consumption Is controlled, affecting not only the worker performance but also the PC.

The virus that originated in china forced many to "work" from home where not only efficiency reduces drastically but also file transfering through the internet rendering all sort of obstacles in a team pipeline.

My Guess?

January 2021 (if lucky) April 2021 sounds like a possibile release date to me.

if they really wanted to keep this a locked secret, wouldn't this thread have gotten taken down within hours?

The last 2 leaks that had threads here were never locked or deleted. I don't think the mods here care unless the leak is from one of the AVSIM users.

Gotta lift it at one point anyway. 😉

I doubt they'll lift the Alpha NDA, software is usually too incomplete during the alpha to have uncontrolled media releases.

I could see them lifting the Beta NDA though, since Betas are usually feature complete.

Wasn't it claimed that everyone who signed up would get a shot at the alpha?

No, all Asobo said was that everyone who signed up would get to test the sim, they never specified it would be the alpha. So that includes the betas when they start coming out.

And speaking OF the leaks, I find them vastly inferior to the official video we've been given. At least with official sources we get the background and reasons why things are done and how they're done.

The official videos have been great, but the leaked videos showed us real natural actual flight simming, which was EXACTLY what I've been waiting to see from the new sim.

Nice, slow, low level GA flying, a few take offs and landings, some pattern flying, wicked turbulence on approach, nasty weather.

I guess I simply prefer to see the sim in action uncut and naturally rather than polished marketing videos.carefully edited.

Agree. They will show material or lift the NDA whenever they think they are ready, not when we want it. People tend to be more forgiving with criticism when it's a leak rather than an official release.

I can wait. I am more interested in a public beta / Early Access rather than a video anyway. 😄

The open Alpha idea altogether is not something that happens too frequently in this manner.

An Open Alpha is not the equivalent of an Early Access. It does not have the same purpose or democracy. And the company can be selective of its pool of testers and this is normal.

Since it was so relatively „easy“ to get into the Alpha (although not everyone did actually get in yet) by just signing up  on a website and doing nothing else, do you think those people will get the RC for free as it was the case with earlier versions? I can’t really imagine but I was wondering.

As testers for the last FS versions back then we surely got the Golden Master for free, but then again the tester selection process was completely different, as you couldn’t just „sign up“. Although I still don’t really know how that went behind the scenes.

Couldn’t agree more. Any topic now becomes a spoiled brat thread about access.

Continues to blow me away. If I found the right one, it looks like the Sedona footage is from a much earlier build, too (1.2.12.0), which means things are only getting better.

The one of the A320 and the real-time changing of weather and time is mind boggling for me (an FSX player). Man, this sim is going to be next level. I'm just so happy that it's finally, truly becoming next-gen—and with full community integration at that.

I agree they did a wonderful job on the clouds and this is still alpha!

I dont like to judge but I like to comment, their marketing strategy Is horrible Indeed, in one hand you have nice repetitive 4K stills and in the other hand you get a long list of bugs to be fixed, and equation reduced to "we are doing something very nice, but It takes time, we Will show It gradually" and that becomes counter productive if its Linear as It Is today, the game Will do good if its good and it will do bad if its bad, marketing should be releasing game play video already if they know what they are doing.

No, I think, their marketing strategy is very good 🙂 Many people still discus about this software in a positive sense. Only a small amount of same people are still negative and frustraded. Some because MS/Asobo don't want accept their work for join to their team (mp15?), some because didn't get an invitation to alpha testing... And some can't present an oposite opinion without arogant tone (MatthewS?)...

But why lie to get people to sign up? They clearly stated that everyone that signed up would get be accepted at some point which is why a lot of us signed up in the first place. They've continued to push this narrative during their updates and have even told people to upgrade their profiles but judging from this forum, FB groups and reddit only a very small number of people got invites over the past month and with the beta nearing I doubt we'll see a big wave of invites.

Things change. They probably were surprised by the number of sign ups or found they did not need as many testers as they originally thought. Perhaps more testers = more same bugs being reported so it's not worthwhile continuously expanding the testing pool.

This also feeds into the "lack of information" posts about the simulator. If everything asobo say is a binding contract signed in blood it's a good idea not to release too much information or "off the cuff statements" since they may no longer apply 1 year later but the fs community will still hold you to it even if its detrimental to the sims development.
