Wow, there was so much there to unpack. I’m just surprised he couldn’t stretch all of that juicy content out another 5 minutes. Doesn’t the YouTube algorithm give more weight to videos at least 10 minutes? 😁

Not hating on the guy. There are at least 4 other YouTubers that will have the exact same video out shortly if they haven’t already. Some people mainly get their news from forums. Some from YouTube. It’s all good.

Oh and he gets major kudos for using the proper name....Flight Simulator “ten”, NOT FSX 😈😂

Wow, the DC-6.. Looking forward to that.
Also would be nice if a2a would make a DC3 "Captain-of-the-Ship". The new sound options alone would make starting those radial engines a real joy. In fact all of the DC-x aircraft are worthy of a MSFS2020 version.

It used to be so that you needed to have your clip at least 10 minutes long to get youtube to show ads during the clip. Maybe the rules have changed since these clips are a lot of times shorter than that nowadays. They don't need to produce a 10 min clip from something that can also be expressed in one short paragraph anymore.

My personal favorite Youtuber when it comes to these is X-Check, I watch the youtuber above also but I find his voice annoying.

That's a bit rude of people, there is nothing wrong with a friendly welcome to the forum IMO.

I feel like he's whispering all the time, so I'm always expecting the pitch of his voice to go up but it never happens, which tires my little brain out ^^

It tends to mainly go off content/searches, plus age-appropriate tags too, which is why accurate SEO tags are important for vids on youtube both when uploading and when rendering in metadata. There are limitations on what length you can upload, which slacken off as your channel hits certain mileposts. Historically, longer videos tend to be less clicked on; probably for similar reasons as to the 'MTV generation' who tended to channel flip unless something grabbed them almost instantaneuously. That's also why the average shot edit in a mainstream movie tends to be no longer than every four seconds and also why most modern movies start with a big crash bang whallop sequence right from the off, then go to the exposition after that with a 'six months earlier...' caption.

You used to be able to monetise stuff with adverts on youtube after certain criteria had been met in terms of views and length, but they changed that a few years back and now they insist on your channel having 1,000 subscribers before you can monetise things with adverts, although there is no such restriction on external revenue links from sponsors. That's one of the reasons why people make click bait videos, especially on new channels, so they can hit that 1,000 subs mark.
