Vienna! First Airport!

This forum sometimes 🤦🏼‍♂️ Kids arguing about NDA’s. Get a grip, just enjoy the pictures for what they are. If anyone has broken anything, so what. It’s not for us to deal with. It’s like the avsim gestapo sometimes in here.

This has nothing to do with Gestapo. I can well imagine Virtuali would take pride to show us the "First Airport!" himself, but he keeps to the roles.

Kind regards, Michael

It's obvious that devs can ask permission to preview their work, considering PMDG previewed NG3 last week and clearly stated they got prior permission. Maybe give Gaya the benefit of the doubt that they did the same thing.

I totally agree with Michael.

Beside that I find a comparison with the Gestapo way out of line....

Looks great! I do sincerely hope they're not really planning to charge $49.99 for the MSFS version of this scenery. To be blunt, I can't think of a dumber response to the market opportunities this new sim opens than to increase prices that already seem totally bonkers to anyone who hasn't been a hardcore simmer for decades...

Even $20 may not be the sweet spot. Think big! How many copies of a gorgeous airport like this could you sell to the huge crowd of people who have already bought this sim at $10? I know, that's crazy! But I'll bet you quite a bit that a lot more than twice as many people are willing to drop $10 on an airport than $20...

Stratospheric addon prices might make sense in a tiny niche market. Developers, you have a golden window of opportunity to change the rules and reverse the cycle that's turned our hobby into an increasingly insular one!

Wouldn´t you all agree that for sure we will get those add-ons for free as just an update, if you own the P3D/XPlane Version already....?!🤔

Contrary to common belief, I expect the marketplace to be quite well filled upon release of MSFS. Obviously, some clever developers were able to use the preliminary SDK plus some intuition to start coding months ago.

I grant it to them as they have gone though difficult times. And I join in the hope for mild prices given sales numbers, notably for the initial items, might be stellar compared to the last year.

Kind regards, Michael

Its obvious they got approval from Asobo/Microsoft to share these images, hence no watermarks.

Didn't take them long to do, did it?

Hopefully, that means it's a fairly straightforward process to make and drop scenery in the sim.

I say 'fairly' hoping I won't be deluged with a load of; "Do you know what's involved in making scenery, etc" as I do.

I assume you have proof to back up your claim?

Of course I have: MS sent an email to all developers that have access to the SDK a couple of weeks ago, clearly stating we are allowed to discuss what we are developing, but we are NOT allowed to share any screenshots of products currently in development until August 18th.

That's the thing with scenery, providing your 3D program has a means to output to the necessary file format, if you've already made the scenery and textured it for a different sim, the bulk of the work is done. It's broadly analagous to the notion that you don't need to a different photograph to print it either as as a bmp or as a jpeg, you can do either from the same image.

Well darn, that's disrespectful thing to do for the other developers. They basically snatched a truck load of free publicity for being the first.

Their trick might still back fire though. MS has full control over which products get visibility in the official market place.
