We've been through all of this two days ago already. If the default ATC is getting you worked up that much already, I doubt the rest of the sim will be for you.

Because FL490 is 49,000 feet no matter where you're flying. And were that the case either 4,900 feet was either the MVA or the MDA on whichever segment of the approach they were clearing you for.

We most certainly have not been through this.
August 13, 20205 yr Anyone can nitpick any flight sim to death, none are perfect in every way. I prefer to remain happy about all of the very positive things MFS has rather than obsess over the minor issues.

Never in the history of aviation has an aircraft been asked to climb to or descend to some random altitude like 7,800. Never. An approach clearance, a la "Descend and maintain 3,600 until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 33 approach", sure. But just randomly? Nope. Absolutely bizarre.

Two days ago I explained to you that if you're obsessing about ATC phraseology in a sim that is primarily aimed towards newcomers, that sim will probably not be for you: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/579652-disappointed-in-alphabeta-tester-selection/?do=findComment&comment=4290581 And, to answer your question: I'm not an expert on the language ATC uses, so I didn't notice a problem there. I'm pretty sure 90% percent of MSFS users won't, either. Edited August 13, 20205 yr by Der Zeitgeist
August 13, 20205 yr There are several choices on what to do. You could... deal with it (along with 1000 other things), turn your radio off (one less thing to deal with), go fly XPlane (which obviously has the best ATC available), fly only on VATSIM or similar, or wait for someone to make an offine ATC that you like. Good luck on that last one. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

And 100% of pilots would notice it immediately. I'm not continuing an old argument, my friend. You are.
