August 14, 20205 yr I have a 5 year old PC with the following specs: i5 processor 8 gigs system ram AMD graphics card with 4 gigs of ram What framerates can I expect in 4k?
August 14, 20205 yr NO. Here are the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 System Requirements (Minimum) CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or better. OS: Windows 10 64-bit. VIDEO CARD: Radeon RX 570 or GeForce GTX 770 or better. FREE DISK SPACE: 150 GB. My Twitch Channel
August 14, 20205 yr I'm not sure if you can run it at all I'm afraid. FSX | DCS | X-Plane 11 | MSFS 2020 | IL2:BoX Favorite aircraft currently: MSFS Savage Cub
August 14, 20205 yr @Ricardo41 Even without knowing what exactly graphics card you have, we can be sure you will NOT have playable 4K on a 5 year old i5 with only 8 GB of RAM. All indications are MFS really wants at least 16 GB RAM to run nicely, and at resolutions exceeding 1440p it really needs the latest top tier graphics card with 8GB of graphics memory if you want it looking sharp and running smooth. Assuming you have decent AMD graphics like the AMD RX5700 XT 6GB you can probably run high at 1440p on your system. August 14, 20205 yr Hi, Well given its a 5yr old PC it may be a bit long in the tooth but you haven't really provided enough details in the first post to conclusively say whether its good enough to run MSFS or not.❗ Re CPU, what i5 processor do you have? The MSFS minimum is a 4th generation chip which in of itself is fairly old tech. The CPU speed is in the range 3.2-3.4 Ghz without any o/c. Do you have something better/more capable than this? 8 Gb RAM meets the min spec For GPU, can you supply more info. The VRAM spec is 2Gb. HD size you have not mentioned Windows OS version not mentioned in your post above -ned to be Windows 10 version 1909 Regards Edited August 15, 20205 yr by Ray Proudfoot Edited on request of author to remove incorrect statement. On something like that at 4K it probably won't even have a frame rate measurable in seconds, it will be more appropriate to measure the frame rate in comparison to the movement of plate tectonics. Run it at 1080p and you'll be in with a chance. Edited August 14, 20205 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
August 14, 20205 yr If you're happy with getting only sub two hundred fps you should be ok. I you want everything out of your 244hz monitor just crank the object detail from 200 to 195 and you should be peachy.
August 14, 20205 yr I don't even think the 2080ti's are doing a good job with 4k. Unless you can tolerate stutters. I can't. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
August 14, 20205 yr There is no way that you should even be considering 4K with that system specification. Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
