This is ridiculous bad. The custom buildings stick out so much of the rest. Thank god I am not interested in any scenery addon but airports.

it’s release date addons. They were made to get quick dollars from the masses.

Looks fine to me but I'm easily pleased to be honest

How does in-app purchasing work?  Do you have to use a Microsoft account?  Does it accept credit card, Paypal, Xbox gift cards?

You need a MS account to buy and launch the game, so yes.

I wonder if ORBX will update them to MSFS quality. Then it wouldn't be so bad.

They're also not effected by snow, but neither are the default landmark buildings, so that might be a base sim issue, not ORBX.

Wait til you see the night lighting of the custom buildings they’ve added, you’ll need some strong sunglasses.

Oh no....the glowing buildings have returned!!???  Why didn't ORBX just do it properly?? Pretty pathetic money grab if you ask me...

Oh, they also don't have any collision.

Now we know why it's $7.

It's just meant to fill landmarks out from the air. I'm sure that looks fine 500 feet above, but it's the same models as P3D stuff.

Oh yeah, I'm sure it looks just fine from 500 ft. 😅

But come on, let's get real here. This is OrbX, and they're putting out a product that looks like freeware for FS 2002 or something. It's just unacceptable.

When you consider that a lot of FS newcomers will possibly buy this product as their first addon ever, it could even damage the entire OrbX brand if this is the first experience people have with OrbX.

I'd been out of flight simulation circles for about 12 years prior to the announcement of FS20 so I'm not overly familiar with ORBX although I understand many people like their landclass sceneries (always preferred UK photo scenery myself). So what's the deal here? I was under the impression they had a good reputation? Looking through this thread, the (locked) one over on the official MSFS forum, and the one on ORBX's own forum, this just looks like shovelware at its absolute worst. What a horrible impression to create for new flight simmers especially.

Related, does anyone know if they tidied-up the 'front' of Leeds Bradford airport compared to the pre-release videos? That looked awful, too.

Christ, that looks like it was made in Minecraft.

I think that’s an insult to Minecraft buildings lol.

I have to admit the London landmarks are not of the quality I expected and I‘m a bit surprised that a company like Orbx releases such a product. You would think that in a first release for a brand-new next-gen flight sim they would want to show off what‘s possible and set a new standard. In this case it looks like a step back.

But then again it‘s only 8$ and the number of modelled buildings is quite astonishing. It's definitely a huge improvement over the default scenery as long as you fly above a certain altitude and not at night. Although I‘m a bit disappointed I’ll probably buy it as I like flying over London and for 8$ it‘s a real bargain.

Also City Airport doesn‘t look that convincing to me. I think I won‘t buy that one and wait for an updated version. LOWI on the other hand looks pretty solid from what I‘ve seen.

There also seems to be some trouble with procedures and frequencies of the default airports getting deleted by installing the addon airports.
