August 19, 20205 yr I am fairly happy with it, although the Simconnect issue is a MAJOR fail. There were so many apps waiting for this day one release to happen and it landed like my first try in the Cessna Longtitude.. 😄 I am sure things will get sorted out, ppl just have to be patient, remember P3D v5 about 3 months ago !! there are so many good things about this sim, you just got to see through the mist a little, but I am naturally an optimist by design Edited August 19, 20205 yr by Steve_Ellis FS PC - AMD7900X3D / MSI RTX 4090 24gb / 32gb Ram / Varjo Aero / Bravo Quadrant / Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog / Yoke / TPR Pedals UK Skytours - http://www.ukskytours.co.uk
August 19, 20205 yr Nope, I uninstalled all other !!! What else would I have to uninstall if it wasn't for MFS ?!!! Seriously now: I couldn't have waited any longer, specially after having participated in the Alpha/Beta and being able to preview it and understand it's potential, and actually what it already offers. It's a game with lot's of future IMO, and actually, due to disk limitations on my side and because I really have to build a new machine for it, I had to uninstall XP for the time being, not because it's a bad game, but because it's too big to fit right now... MFS offers astounding graphics and scenery like I never had before for a price that is a tiny fraction of what I would have to pay in order to have similar, but for sure inferior quality in a game like P3D, or even XP. Does it have room for improvement ? Lozzzza, starting with features not already implemented, but that's all part of the process. August 19, 20205 yr I did a flight to Paris from Manchester earlier, in the 787. There's some pics in the Avsim screenshot section. Its autopilot flew the SID, the transition, LNAV, VNAV, and FL CHANGE descent down from 31,000 at the T.O.D. perfectly fine. Autothrottle behaved itself perfectly too. And what's more, when ATC said I was to expect the visual for 26R at LFPG, I was tempted to ask for a different approach because the clouds actually do a decent job of obscuring the terrain and I thought I might be reporting the runway in sight quite late in the proceedings. As it turned out that was true and I had to go missed and come around again for another stab at it because visibility wasn't great. It was the best depiction of a night landing I've ever seen in a flight sim and flying the approach manually was not a problem either in spite of some reports of dodgy control sensitivities (which I have tweaked in the sim's GUI, took about 30 seconds). Could have done without the long list of taxiways to the stand ATC gave me because LFPG is a big airport, so I'd like one of those 'show the taxi route' cheats implemented like there is in FSX and P3D, but other than that, it was a great, fun flight. So don't believe everything you hear about the airliners not being anywhere near up to snuff. It might not have every switch on the overhead working, but the ones that really matter for an average flight do work and I think it'll be great for people just getting into that stuff as many new flight sim beginners are. Incidentally, if you want a good laugh, put your IFR flight callsign as 'SEXMACHINE'. When you hear ATC contacting you and saying: 'SEXMACHINE, expedite your descent...' , you'll laugh your @ss off. Just that alone is worth the 109 quid I paid for the Super Duper version. 🤣 Edited August 19, 20205 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
August 19, 20205 yr I fully agree, It's not perfect, but what is at release these days. I'm not the youngest so I remember the days when software came on floppies and there was no Internet, then they had to make sure the release was as finished as it could ever be. But it's a different world now. But this is still the best FS I have ever flown (in stock form), and I've used a lot of them from FS 5.1 and onwards. Just an example: The first flight I did was around my home town (ESOE) over a lake. And when flying over the water it was nice and calm, and then when flying in over the shore the little turbulence / thermals began. I'm a real world pilot also PPL SEP, mostly Cirrus SR20, around 500h, and this is how it works IRL, very impressed.

So I believe, but I've not seen them display. Suspect it is a glitch/bug. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Sure it has annoying bugs but this is always the case with the software industry. Bugs are OK. Releasing airliners that are virtually impossible to operate for any simmer with low to normal expecations is something else

August 19, 20205 yr Not at all. Considering how great this looks compared to P3D with a slew of add-ons...it still looks far better. August 19, 20205 yr I first need to put a new rig together. I'm waiting for new chips to reach the market, it'll probably be a couple of months still. It must be quite frustrating to see the progress bar stuck at one spot for hours, or have the '3.84 GB to go' issue, or the 'press any key' issue, or have it be unplayable from ultra low FPS and stutters that many 7 series Intel chip owners seem to suffer from. I hope waiting will spare me the frustration of having to the tinker inside the file structure in an attempt to get it going. I'm hoping for one fluent process, from pressing 'Install' to starting the sim and play ... the way it should be. Always have fun --0-- Flight Sim Navigation
