All versions of FSUIPC are free for application use and always have been ever since FS98, so you don't need to pay to use it with Pilot2ATC. I'm sure this has been made clear here before, Check the FSUIPC documentation. The User Guide explains exactly what extra you get if you purchase it. If you don't want to use any of those user facilities then don't purchase it. It is really that simple. Commercial application program makers or publishers normally support FSUIPC development by agreeing royalty or one-off fees with the author. In fact there used to be a separate registration code for each application, but that check was omitted later on when it was assumed new applications would use SimConnect directly instead of via FSUIPC. November 13, 20205 yr I am running P2A through my network on separate computer. In the case of X-Plane the connection worked through the XPWideClient. What about MSFS 2020? Do I have to purchase the WideClient of FSUIPC?
November 13, 20205 yr Author Commercial Member Yes, you can't operate remotely without the Wide Client. Dave
November 14, 20205 yr Dear Dave, I'm currently on day 2 of my test phase and I'm pretty impressed. P2A works well with my MSFS2020. But there is one thing I'm really confused meanwhile: Implementing X ATC Chatter into P2A. So I have two questions: 1. Can the files from X ATC Chatter which I purchased yesterday via x-plane. org be played with P2A 2.6 and MSFS2020? 2. Here in that forum I read somewhere that a folder "Regions" have to be created under "ATC-Chatter" with the regions inside (see attached picture), in the YT video of Stick and Rudder Studios the "Controllers" folder is placed into "ATC_Chatter" without "Regions" folder. What is correct? With my setup I currently don't hear any regional chatter, only the sound from the "radio-static" file I guess. Brgds Stephan
November 14, 20205 yr Author Commercial Member Yes, the Chatter can work with any SIM. Yes, you need the Regions folder. Your folder structure looks correct. Inside the Europe folder, you should have a Controllers folder and inside that, a folder for each of the different controller types. Your setup also looks correct. If you are not hearing the chatter, you need to check the following: Fully connected to the SIM Power indicator Green in P2A Tuned to a valid frequency that has chatter, like ground or tower. ATIS, for example, has no chatter. Chatter volume turned up. Chatter volume is controlled via the Volume controls on the P2A popup radio panel that is accessed by clicking on the Standby frequency area near the Power indicator. Dave

Aside from stepping on each other (which actually happens IRL), does leaving that setting on have any potential for other more significant problems? I wouldn't expect you guys to have it ready TODAY, but if AI offline is now actually usable (before today's reported fixes it was so bad it literally broke the sim if you were in crowded airspace, though obviously I haven't had a chance to test that), it may also allow P2ATC to control those aircraft as well, rendering FS's ATC as completely and totally irrelevant.
December 16, 20205 yr Has anyone tried to use VR headset with PILOT2ATC my headset wont pickup voice commands (it works with normal HEADSETS but not VR headset any clues ? I can see the PTT turn green but when i say any command no response so i am assuming its not hearing me Edited December 16, 20205 yr by coxo2436
December 16, 20205 yr Hi Everyone I am extremely new to Pilot2ATC and so far am really enjoting it and seem to have worked out most things by using the manual/youtube videos/forums etc. What I am having difficulty with is flight planning on P2A. I am creating my flight plans via SimBrief etc and have watched the videos related to ensuring Sid's Stars and Approaches are all carried out (I also use Navigraph). This all seems good and my Flight Plans all validate etc. However, when I import my P2A flight plan into MSFS2020 it does not seem to work correctly - particularly on approaches and landings. My ATC works fine but MSFS2020 shows my flight plan as being more 'basic' than I planned in P2A and it follows the MSFS plan and not my P2A one. I cant for the life of me work out why this is the case. Is anybody able to assist please as reading these forums there appears to be a great deal of knowledge and I am looking to 'tap' into that? Thank you so much for any help offered (including pointing out any of my errors!!!! :-))
December 16, 20205 yr Make sure you have 'Import/Export SID/STAR/Appr waypoints' option checked in the flight plan configuration of P2ATC. Dirk

December 19, 20205 yr I may well be asking a redundant question, as everything seems to be working fine but how do I ensure that the Navdata in P2ATC is current? In other software there is an option to run update the internal database using Pete Dowson's brilliant mkrunways. I'm running FSUIPC 7.0.2 and Navigraph version 2013 v4 P2ATC v2.6.1.3_x64 and in the bar at the top it says Navigraph cycle 2013. As I said it all seems to be OK but I don't recall ever importing a DB and certainly not updating one. Am I mad? (don't answer that!) Ok great thank you so there's no scenery DB as such to update in P2ATC? December 19, 20205 yr Author Commercial Member Correct. P2A does not deal with scenery, other than data about the taxiways and runways which it gets when you run MakeRunways and import the result.
