FS Genesis question

Featured Replies

Hi,I went to the FS Genesis site and noticed that there is a terrain mesh available for FSX that covers almost the entire North American Continent. I am interested in purchasing, but I'd really like to see some screenshots, but I didn't see a screenshot link anywhere on the page, I've probably overlooked it or something, could someone point me to the right place?Thank you,Jeff

I've posted some shots in the screenshot area-but for the low price it is well worth it-if you want to see for instance the tetons that look almost exactly like real life (see my teton vs. real shots in the screen shot forum).A real bargain...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

Jeff, I've got the FSX Genesis mesh and it is well worth the price and no impact on framerates at all. Craig

I agree. Installed and running the Mesh slider at 10m. You just can't beat it. I also highly recommend the life-time membership as well. Updates and additional mesh are always being uploaded by Justin. I know it seems like a steep price at first, but if you're into keeping your mesh "as real as it gets," there is no better way to keep it updated with the latest-and-greatest. With a membership, Justin will also mail you the newest DVD automatically. So even if you have a broadband connection now, you'll always have the media on hand as well.A year into your memebership and you'll be thanking yourself. I am!

Whoa ... I thought the default had mesh down even more fine than 37m (if chosen with slider). I can see the difference, but I assume you had the slider high rez enough with default?I have UT US/Alaska ... Perhaps I'll give it a try.

Can't tell you the hundreds of gigabytes of scenery I've downloaded from Justin and NEVER had a problem with it. Perhaps I'll give it a try.Default FSX max resolution for USA is 38mTo me, that means if you set the slider to 19m, you won't see any difference in the USA mesh in the sim.I have not tried it, but that seems logical. Same with textures. You won't see any difference in the sim, moving the texture slider below 1 m resolution.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Jeff, I am using the Landclass I previously purchased from FS Genesis for use with FS9. Works fine in FSX. Craig
